A colleague and I arranged a breakfast meeting at this hotel. we had rung the day before and they had assured us there was no need to book for a table at 9.30am. However when we arrived it was a totally different story. at first we were completely ignored by the staff but after finally getting hold of someone to ask for a table we were told they were very busy so we would have to wait a few minutes. however a few minutes passed and there was no sign of anyone readying a table. about 10 tables were free and a group of about 5 staff were huddled around the cash till doing very little. we asked again several times about the table but were repeatedly told that they were extremely busy and we would just have to wait. i finally asked to speak to the supervisor who just reiterated that they were very busy and hotel guests take priority - not that they had asked us if we were guests or not. After 25 minutes of not getting served we finally left. I've been to a number of 5* hotels and what makes them exceptional is the service. St Pancras is beautiful but i will never return after such appauling and rude treatment.
