“Great little find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

This iconic little tearooms is almost opposite the British Museum so a welcome place for a sit-down and something to eat and drink.
The sandwich menu is delightful and the scones with clotted cream and jam are wonderful.. Also recommended is the home-made lemondae, fresh smoothies and real leaf tea in china cups. Oh and my husband (who is very fussy about such things) said the coffee was excellent!
All in all an excellent experience and under 40 pounds for 4 people (who chose everything they wanted and more!)
So if you are looking for a little respite from the wonders of London, this is a great place to do it! Fabulous

“Deserves a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

We booked a table in this small and cosy tea room. Stairs may be a touch tricky for anyone not good on their pins but worth it as service and selection of food is good.
Tea and Tattle offer a good selection of traditional flavours and more inventive sandwiches all served on lovely old fashioned china plates & cups. We just had sandwiches, but the scones and cakes we saw other customers enjoying looked delightful.
A great end to an interesting morning spent at the British Museum.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013

Lovely tea shop and £15 per person was a reasonable price for afternoon tea in London. The service was impeccable and the china pretty. Worth a visit if near the British Museum (it is just across the road). Nice to support an independent business who get things right.

“Nice tea, delicious strawberries and cream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We stopped in after a visit to the British Museum to have some afternoon tea. There's a bookshop on the upper floor and the tea is downstairs. Would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the lack of windows in the tea shop, though it's decorated nicely and quite charming. We enjoyed our tea and strawberries and cream. Then, later that night we realized we'd left behind a bag with souvenir t-shirts. We found out later the proprietor had left a note on the door after they closed in case we came back, and ended up holding our things for a friend - very considerate. We'll go back on our next trip to London.
