Description: At Terry's we pride our self on only using quality locally sourced produce. The ethos at Terry's is to provide good honest food in an inviting friendly manor. Our meats come from smithfield meat market (where Terry used to work prior to the cafe) and our fresh produce comes from the famous Borough market. More recently in 2011 we introduced our coffee machine to the forecourt of our shop We enjoy a good relationship with Monmouth coffee co who have supplied us from the outset. We bake our own fresh pastries on the premises daily. Lunch time you can enjoy one of our home cooked daily specials from £8.00, such as "Toad in the hole ", sausage & herb pie, Traditional Roast dinners or Fish and chips, all cooked the premises and cooked to our own families recipes. Home cooking at its best! If your looking for a michelin star rated restaurant your in the wrong place, if its a Traditional English cafe, serving unpretentious good valued food and service look no further.

“Definitely more spoon the grease”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

!uality food and top service, a proper cafe with character.

I had one of the bigger full english options with toast. Nice salty back bacon, still moist and not grilled to leather like some of the cheaper joints I've been to, a quality sausage and proper thick slices of black pudding. Fried egg was properly cooked with a nice runny yolk and no runny white. Buttered toast is a very reasonable 30p a slice. Mushrooms were the usual button jobs.

Overall a very nice place to relax for 30 minutes and watch the world go by. If you on your own (or doubling up) get a window seat. Bit of a tight seat but worth it.

Definitely my new go to for the occasional monthly breakfast. The whole lot including 4 toast and a coke came to just short of a tenner.

Staff are very friendly with Terry (I presume it was Terry) just the icing on the cake. Comes across as someone whose passionate about his business and it shows.

Looking forward to going again.

“Excellent Fry Up Close To Borough Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

A friend told us about this place to go for a proper fry up, it did not disappoint! We have The Works and the Hamlet, as you can see from the photo you get a lot of food for your money! Everything was tasty and cooked well. Cups of tea are kept to 1970s prices of 20p per cup which is a nice touch. The atmosphere was nice and had lots of old photos on the walls which were interesting.
The total bill was £16.70 and we were left full for the whole day! Recommended.

“Great find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

This place is just off the beaten track of borough high street but def a place to go. It's cozy traditional east end feel makes it even better. Staff are great food is plentiful and they use proper HP and Heinz ketchup!! Which in London is rare anyway. Only down side is you can't pay on your card but up the road about 10 feet is a free of few cash machine!!!

“Excellent local discovery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Accidentally discovered this delightfully traditional cafe 15 minutes' walk from home (having lived here for only the last 17 years!!). It's not a big place, and when I arrived I only by swift manouvering managed to grab a rather squashed table by the window... there is also some seating outside. 'Locally sourced' ingredients combine to make up a wide-ranging breakfast menu... and something I've never seen before... as many cups of tea as you want for only 20p when accompanying a meal. I went for the 'blowout' at £7.40... sausage, two eggs, proper chips, bacon and beans. I shall be back to try the other options in the breakfast range.
