The first time I went to Cantina Laredo was for lunch in the front room. It was lovely with great margaritas and clean, fresh food. The second time I went back I invited several friends and was honestly embarrassed by how i talked it up versus how the experience actually went. We had drinks at the bar, where my margarita was partially spilled when being handed over - nothing was mentioned about my 2/3 drink as I paid for a full. Since I wasn't offered a new drink by the bartender I'd assumed that I would be given a discount on the drink. Sadly no. I'll put a caveat for the next part, since I don't think much of what transpired was purely the waiters fault - it seems that management has placed too many tables in far away locations from the kitchen and bar, for what the waiters could honestly handle. However. Despite asking for a quiet table we were seated next to a table of 8 with two toddlers already climbing the chairs of our table - there were other tables readily available at this time so there really was no excuse. Our waiter was harried, sweating and rushed. The table side guac. was equally harried to the point where it was embarrassingly loud as he attacked the poor small avocado in the bowl. Additionally the large chunks of raw onion were not particular appealing and we spent most of our appetizer time picking them out. Though the main plates were still good (and why I gave a two instead of a one) we had to sit with our dirty glasses and dishes from the appetizer (with all the raw onion of course). Having worked in the service industry its a huge pet peeve when the next course shows up in the midst of the one you're eating, not to mention dirty dishes sitting on the table for the entire meal. All in all it was an unpleasant and frankly we won't be back again. Its a shame that the environment and service can't live up to the food.
