“Lovely Park & Little Coffeeshop, Cool Engineering”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

I love engineering marvels, and this is one. Built with the help of the Dutch, who know a thing or two about water management. Arrived via DLR Pontoon Dock - very simple. Fantastic place to take photographs. Featured in a couple episodes of one of my favorite TV shoes - MI-5 (Spooks, in England, I think.) At any rate. stellar!

“Pleasant walk and an impressive (and oddly familiar) sight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

I felt compelled to come out to see the Thames Barrier while visiting London. I had seen it so often featured in tv shows (MI-5, Doctor Who) and was impressed by the whole concept of it. Also, I wanted to get out on the water in London. The ferries are a wonderful way to get around, but the schedules and locations and pricing is baffling. However, we eventually managed to get there, and enjoyed the walk along the Thames, and were not disappointed with the sight of the huge barrier structure, gleaming in the sun. There is also a very basic cafe.

“Impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2010

Visit the park and walk along the Thames path. Don't turn up after 4.00 p.m. as they close the car park and you could be stuck. Great in the fternoon when the sun is on the barrier.
