You won't find anyone more knowledgeable or more enthusiastic about this wonderful city.
London' s story came alive through Gavin's eyes, his knowledge, and anecdotes. He took the time to learn that we were interested in the lesser known stories and alleys of London. As a result, Kings and Queens became human, the kitchens of Hampton Court came alive with the smells of pastry and roasted meat. We walked the alleys and felt the night of Victorian times. It is obvious that he loves his job. Extremely professional, always on time, very accommodating and loads of fun. He has my highest recommendation. Maria.

My addendum to Maria's review can be summed up in two words. GAVIN KNOWS. Where is the best cup of coffee in London? Gavin knows. The royal motto of Henry VIlI is plastered all over his private chapel at Hampton Court. IN LATIN. What does it mean? Gavin knows. What is the best time to see the national jewels at the Tower of London? Where was the first coffee shop in London and why does it matter? You guessed it - Gavin knows. From Hampton Court to the Tower of London. From the financial district to Westminster Abbey. From the best shopping to National Museum. By the way, where did the name Westminster come from? Yep, Gavin knows.

Over my many decades of business, I have always enjoyed and appreciated the company of professionals who truly take pride in their occupations. Now I can add Gavin Webb to that list.

“LONDON WAS EXCEPTIONAL THANKS TO GAVIN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We were privileged to have Gavin Webb show us around London for 5 ½ days during our recent European trip. We spent 3 full days with him during our first stay on London and a further 2 ½ days at the end of our trip.

We got to know Gavin extremely well and now consider him to be a friend and are already planning further adventures with him when we next visit London.

From the outset Gavin was extremely professional – he always replied promptly to our many emails and provided a range of suggested itineraries. We gave him a list of the places we wanted to see and then left it up to him to include hidden treasures off the usual tourist tracks. Gavin is a Blue Badge Guide (the highest professional guiding qualification in the UK) and is extremely passionate about London and showing visitors all it has to offer.

Gavin met us at our inner London accommodation each morning and our adventures began. We had guided tours of Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral (including climbing the dome), Greenwich (full day) and the Spitafields area. We also had guided “highlights” tours of the British Museum, Courtauld Gallery, National Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum. He planned our visits to the popular tourist spots during the quieter times of the day so that we could have the best possible experience.

We particularly loved how he weaved the history and streets of London into the tours. We explored quaint little allies, back streets, historical & contemporary architecture, markets and interesting shops. He provided some wonderful suggestions for lunch stops that fitted in with the theme of the tour.

Gavin has an extensive knowledge of English & European history, the Arts & Architecture. He presents in a friendly, fun, light hearted & humorous manner. He kept us on our toes with interesting and quirky facts. Gavin very quickly got to know us and our individual interests and tailored the tours accordingly. It was wonderful to have Gavin guide us around the galleries and museums. He focused on the “must see” artworks and pieces and brought them to life with amazing insight & knowledge of both the artwork/piece and the period in which it was created.

Gavin and David from David’s Day Tours also took us on a wonderful day trip to Oxford and the Cotswolds area. We explored the amazing home of Oxford University and Gavin showed us the tourist sights and also the lesser known smaller Colleges and buildings. On the way back to London we drove through the surrounding countryside and visited a couple of quaint Cotswold villages. One highlight was visiting Winston Churchill’s grave in a little village churchyard.

Words cannot express the experiences & fun we had with Gavin! We are looking forward to returning to London and further exploring this wonderful City – we are sure that Gavin will have many new places to show us!

“A memorable personal tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Our family gave us an afternoon tour with Gavin as part of a Golden Wedding present. We were rather worried that it would be too daunting an experience as we are obviously past our prime. It was a bright, sunny but cold, day and we wished to see something of unknown London. Gavin did just that and always had an indoor location to visit if we became too cold.
We visited places in Westminster that we had heard of but knew little about and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Gavin. He is a knowledgeable and considerate guide and we would recommend him without hesitation.

Thank you for a most enjoyable experience.

“Paul and Margaret Brigg's Historic London Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

A winter visit to London necessarily involved visits to museums, gallaries and historic sites. Gavin displayed a great depth of knowledge about these locations laced with his own interesting annecdotes. He was also thoughtful about his clients' general needs and provided unsolicited information, for example about transport and other arrangements over the Xmas holidays. We found him an exemplary guide.
