I met a friend here for dinner before going out in Soho. As I was walking up to the restaurant I noticed a Chipotle employee acting very strangely in the ally next to Chipotle, about 15ft in front of me. He was running around with a broom and frantically stamping his foot on the ground. At first I couldn't work out what he was doing until I saw a mouse scurry out. It then clicked that he intended to stamp it to death so I turned away only to hear him announce "IS DEAD!!!". I felt sick to my stomach. When I went inside to grab my friend it occurred to me why they might have pest control problems: the floor inside the restaurant was littered with bits of food.
I get that it's London and perhaps lots of city restaurants struggle to keep the mice at bay but don't stamp them to death and then announce it to the whole of Soho.
