We did the Free Royal Tour, which leaves everyday at 11am and 1pm, and lasts for 2 - 2 and a half hours. Our tour guide was Owen from Australian and he was great! Our tour took us to Buckingham Palace, which was mobbed when we were there because it was the first day the Queen was returning home here, but it was great. Other sites included Hyde's Park, Nelson' Column, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery Outside, St. James Park, Wellington Arch, Big Ben, 10 Downing St., Churchill's Cabinet War Rooms, Houses of Parliament, St. Martin in the Fields, Westminster Abbey, and Henry the 8th Tudor Castle. The tour group size was pretty large, but that is expected with a free tour. However the guide had a lot of information and stories to share which was great. It is a walking tour the whole time, and also there is not a ton of time to stop and take photos. At the end the guide goes to eat at a pub, and welcomes you to join if you want to eat and ask questions. We talked to him for a while at the pub and he was a huge help. It was a great start and introduction to London. The tour meets at the Wellington Arch stop, take exit 2 Hype Park Corner Station.
