Description: Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names on the restaurant scene. With the world-renowned Gordon Ramsay behind the scheme to raise Petrus - now located on Knightsbridge's Kinnerton Street - from the ashes, the restaurant exudes the famous Ramsay sense of luxury combined with down-to-earth charm. Decorated in subtle tones of champagne, oyster and copper along with the claret red which inspired the restaurant's name, Petrus's beguiling interior is superbly decadent and romantic and actually quite intimate. In the kitchen, Head Chef Sean Burbidge is creating its trademark modern French menu. At Petrus the highest-quality ingredients go into dishes that combine delicious familiar flavours with unique presentation. Expect waves of divine amuse-bouches and a stupendous wine list, including a long list of vintages of Petrus to make it all perfect.

“Spoilt rotten”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

Thank you Petrus for helping us forget the terrible experience we had the previous night at Hakkasan. From the moment we walked in (a little bit late, but that was not an issue whatsoever), we felt discreetly looked after, paid attention to and in general provided the best service possible.

Our companion for the night (because it is hard to call him a waiter) was a lovely French gentleman, we had a chat about a bit of everything throughout the evening. Suggestions were made before we could even request what we wanted, the table was moved for us if we wanted to get up and my handbag got a little tabouret seat of its own (something that should be obvious, as very often restaurant chairs are not designed to hang the handbag on them safely, but still very rare even in places that consider themselves elegant).

We took the chef's tasting menu and we were not disappointed. Even the dishes that we did not consider on par with the rest were creative (main course had a smoky taste - courtesy of scorched cos lettuce - that made me think of cigarettes and took the pleasure of tasting it away). Now, the scallops, sauteed foie gras and the seared pineapple were poetry on a plate.

No rush, no noise, no care in the world. Petrus makes you enjoy your evening totally, in every aspect and not for an outrageous price either. We will be back.

“Really faultless lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

We went on a set menu lunch, the whole experience was fantastic . . .the welcome was warm, the food was incredible. Steak Tartare, Fois gras - all amazing, the wine list was varied enough for those on a (relatively) limited budget.
The lollipops in dry ice was a great ending to a fantastic meal. i would totally recommend this to anyone and often have!

“Cracking!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Had a late night booking in July which given the time it gets dark is the way to go! Ordered the tasting menu with fine wine pairing. Both wine and food alike were exceptional. The menu was a great combination of expensive ingredients and some more modest ingredients prepared well enough to excel at the highest levels.

The restaurant has a great feel about it with the wine cellar in the middle and being a whisky lover enjoyed the roll out whiskey trolley. Of the Ramsay restaurants visited this was our favourite.

It's a restaurant I would return to even with limited time.

“Fantastic Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

The food is superb, every mouthful is an absolute treat. The staff make you feel extremely welcome and valued as a guest whether you are a one off visitor or a regular.
Whilst it is not a cheap experience to eat here it is one that is worth every penny. I would recommend going here to anyone who has the chance.

“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

Visited as a party of 4 for the set lunch, and enjoyed a lovely meal. From the moment we arrived service was exceptional - staff made us feel at ease and every course was exquisite. There were small bonus 'courses' served at the table so even though it was expensive they did make it seem a little better value. I would happily return and highly recommend.
