Description: Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names on the restaurant scene. With the world-renowned Gordon Ramsay behind the scheme to raise Petrus - now located on Knightsbridge's Kinnerton Street - from the ashes, the restaurant exudes the famous Ramsay sense of luxury combined with down-to-earth charm. Decorated in subtle tones of champagne, oyster and copper along with the claret red which inspired the restaurant's name, Petrus's beguiling interior is superbly decadent and romantic and actually quite intimate. In the kitchen, Head Chef Sean Burbidge is creating its trademark modern French menu. At Petrus the highest-quality ingredients go into dishes that combine delicious familiar flavours with unique presentation. Expect waves of divine amuse-bouches and a stupendous wine list, including a long list of vintages of Petrus to make it all perfect.

“Great, but not quite perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Took my husband for his birthday, fab service, nice ambience to the restaurant. Broccoli with the beef course was overcooked but otherwise food was fantastic and very memorable. Pudding in particular was spectacular (a chocolate shell which melted when a sauce was poured over it to reveal the ice cream inside). As you might imagine from the name, the wine list is extensive but not exhaustive, and there is something for most budgets.

“What fine dining should be”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Having wanted to visit Petrus for some time I finally treated myself and my girlfriend to a dinner there. Having eaten at another Ramsay restaurant previously, I knew to go in prepared with my credit card.

What I wasn't prepared for was just how good the food was, and the friendliness of the serving staff. Our waiters were both pleasant and engaging, with real passion and insight on the food. The sommelier made an excellent wine suggestion, taking into account my limited budget on this front. The food was incredible -my starter of Pithivier of Quail & Foie Gras was divine (I wanted a pint glass of the jus afterwards!), my partner's Haddock was the finest she's ever had.

The only critique I have is the frankly staggering mark-up on the aforementioned wine. Also, I felt like the service, which was whip-quick at the start of the night, really wound down as the evening went on to the stage where we were left with our empty coffee cups and chocolates on our table for a good 10 minutes after we were done.

That being said, neither of these detracted from an all-around excellent evening. A genuine pleasure to eat here.

“A decadent afternoon on one of London's finest restaurants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Last time I went to a Gordon Ramsey restaurant was in 2003 in Glasgow, and unsurprisingly it has since shut down, not that the food and ambience was not great - but it was so so stuffy, formal and stiff... everyone spoke in whispers - it was awful.. so with a little trepidation we went off to Petrus for the afternoon yesterday and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The food of course was sublime and plentiful - the wine selections fantastic - the ambience delightful but the staff were simply fantastic, they were knowledgable and humorous, not taking themselves too seriously at all , and done without compromising silver service.
I highly recommend this delightful spot. We had the chef's tasting menu and in out opinion this is best had for afternoon lunch rather than a dinner... we were able to walk it off as we strolled past Buckingham Palace to Green Park and had a snooze under a tree.

“Splendid!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Back to London always is a good feeling after a month of work's travel .I decided visit Petrus after maybe a year, located in a quiet neighbourhood with a modern and attractively furniture. Tables are far enough apart to allow an undisturbed conversation. Food was excellent from the greeting from the kitchen to the dessert and coffee with chocolates and pralines, good wine variety to accomplish every dish. All around Splendid!
