We selected Petrus based on TA reviews that reflected it as the top rated restaurant in London (plus it was near our hotel). Wow! It is rare that a total dining experience comes together where food, service, and the personality of a restaurant shine with a bright light! This was one of those moments. We ordered from the A La Carte menu after debating the Chef's Menu. We ordered wine by the glass and three courses of food, which was supplemented by three additional courses plus a complimentary cheese tasting for my wife after she asked about the cheese on the cheese tray. The food was not too fancy or complicated, but was perfectly matched with several elements from each main or appetizer dish enhancing each other. There were no jarring combinations as all flowed smoothly on the tongue. The wait staff may have been the most personable and professional we have encountered. At least 5 or 6 different persons worked our table, seamlessly. At the end, we were taken on a tour of the kitchen to meet the pastry chef and the chef...both looked about 30 years old or less. I could ramble on further, but let's just say this was GOOD.
