My husband and I stayed one night at the Park Plaza Westminster on a 2 day quick trip to London. We could not have been more pleased. Proximity to bus routes and subway lines was very convenient. Ask the consierge about local food fairs. We happened to be in town when an amazing food fair was going on along the banks of the Thames. The ILLY cafe was perfect for a light snack or breakfast and a brilliant cup of coffee, also with an amzing view. So many sites are accessible on foot too, We took a liesurely stroll past Parliament and Westminster Abbey, down the Mall to Buckingham Palace. This will be our home base on our next trip to London!

We stayed at this hotel as my friend had hired the Primo Bar for her birthday celebration. The hotel is in a fabulous location - just over Wesminster Bridge so you can see Big Ben from its doors. You are also within walking distance of Westminster tube and Waterloo Station.

The hotel is very big and very busy but despite this we were checked in immediately that we came in despite there being a lot of people checking out.

The room was fabulous and very well equiped - ironing board, internet, tea making facilities, two flat screen TVs, Dead Sea toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers, air con/heating, nice large shower - given that the hotel is so large I was very impressed on how quickly they responded to anything be it room service or a request for more toiletries.

The bed was really comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. I would say the style of the hotel is modern.

Lights were a little complicated - often would go off in the bedroom part if you put them on in the living room part - but we got the hang of them eventually.

Breakfast on a Sunday was until 11am which is great for those of us that got to bed at 4am! Plenty of everything and although there was quite a queue when we got there we were seated within 4 minutes. There was everything you can think of from the traditional English breakfast, to pastries, fruit, cereals, cheese ham etc. One tiny niggle was that there was only one toaster.

The bar was busy until very late and "proper" food was available all night which is so often not the case in many hotels despite the brochures.
Check out is a sensible midday and again was fast and efficient. I enjoyed the whole experience and I would certainly stay here again if I needed a hotel in central London

I normally stay once a month here, i often get upgrade rooms with club carlson, but the basic rooms are great. New modern and trendy with great views from the upper rooms and wierd but good views from the internal atrium faced rooms. Breakfast is good either light and fast or long and heavy however you want it , staff are routinely friendly and always say "hi". Later on in the bar ther are nearly always some one intersting to talk to , and the bar staff although never in a rush to serve have a laid back charm. Saturdays and sometimes Fridays there is often an interesting mix of guests at the live music, which sometimes cheesey is usually a good laugh.

On arrival the front desk staff were polite and efficient. We had a studio room which was nice but on reflection the living room area was a little wasted. Bath and shower were good. Lights a little confusing but soon figured them out!

The location of the hotel is spot on and has a great view of Big Ben. The hotel itself is smart however extremely big with a huge amount going on all the time. It means that you dont really get a personable feel about it. The best way I can explain it as is 'very vegas'. Nothing too negative just probably not quite to our taste.

The pool area had potential but far too small for the number of guests in the hotel.

Bar area was lively but again once we returned after dinner it was a little 'butlins' esq with the live music.

Breakfast was when we realised just how many people were staying in the hotel. very dis organised and over crowded. a good selection of food but not cooked brilliantly. Service was poor as we never even got offered a tea or coffee!

In general it was a pleasent stay but apart from the great location there was nothing extraordinary about this hotel.
