“Best Value & Quality Fish & Chips in EC1”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

This is an absolute favourite of mine for lunch with friends from work, we eat here at least once a month

I often have the cod goujons & chips served with fresh salad and homemade coleslaw. I have never had a bad meal from here.

This is an excellent one for a quick lunch and my only negative is that tables are very close together but they do get very busy and are often very full.

Eat here and you will not be disappointed.

“Very Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Great take away. Quick service. Lovely portions, the chips are nice and crispy freshly salted and perfectly cooked. The cod is amazing as well as the haddock. I love their meat pies and they have a good selection of drinks. Will be back!

“High quality, fresh and homemade”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Finally a fish & chips shop that really stands out from the crowd. Everything is cooked fresh, the pies are homemade and the customer service is excellent. Kennedys really is a cut above the rest, using quality ingredients to serve gourmet food without veering from their chip shop identity.

“If you want to try the best of British...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

...Fish & Chips...it's what Friday night was all about if you could afford it...now we have the kebab & curry...as well as a really international list of late night snacks you can get at any time...but truly good fish & chips are rare...so don't listen to the other reviewers get down there & try for yourself...London cabbies & locals don't eat there because it's rubbish...this is the 4th time I've been & the cod & chips were properly good! Yes the chips were real potato and the fish was freshly cooked & piping hot. The lager was priced fairly and the whole meal was great value for money.

“Expensive. Overcooked. Give it a wide berth.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

The Whitecross Street Kennedys replaced a much loved Fish and Chip Restaurant and Takeaway. And yes the décor is up to date and very, very, shiney but the food. Oh my goodness it is overpriced and basically terrible. The chips are too fat, double cooked so have skins that vinegar slides off. The fish is yet again overpriced and extremely small portions. The homemade pies and pasties are all encased in leathery pastry. All in all it's a big let down. The old chip shop might have been a bit old and dated but they knew how to cook fish and chips and service was always with a smile. I find it a bit hard to smile at paying £10 for a portion of chips, two sausages and two drinks.
