Description: The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

“Poor everything here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014

We booked this restaurant on the basis of eating at Bistro De Luxe last year. Boy do I wish we hadn't bothered. On being shown to our table we were seated between two large round tables of people. We were then given menus and wine lists and offered either a slice of brown bread or white! Surely in a high end french restaurant it should be nice fresh baked rolls etc. We then went on to order our food, I ordered a veloute which when it arrived and the veloute poured over the bit of duck and egg in the bottom of the dish was cool. But by this time the problem of being sat between these two tables soon became apparant as everytime the waiters served the one side I had to keep dodging out of the way to enable them to serve them. Around eleven times in a very short times this happened. At which point it became very annoying and i was ready to just pay for what we had had and go but the maitra d persuaded us that he could seat us somewhere else and that everything would be fine.So we thought okay give them another chance so we accepted the new table and went on with the meal. The duck that had been ordered with fondant potatoes and to our astonishment arrived cut into large cubes with the fondant potato also having been cut into four pieces!! It was tough and again just luke warm we just didn't want to make a fuss so we ate a little of it and decided to pay the bill and leave. £130 for very poor food.

“An old Chapel to a fantastic restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

We went to Galvin La Chapelle several times on 3 different occasions... It was superb all along... The food, the service and the beautiful and cozy ambience .. on all these occasions we got to sit in the main area not up the steel mezzanine area... I must say we were impressed and had beautiful memories of our dinners there... so enjoyable... I highly recommend it for those who love great food in a beautiful venue..

“Food, Service and Ambiance all superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

We ate early evening on a Friday (arrived just after 6pm). Until 7pm you can order from the Prix Fixe menu, which three of the four of us did.

While you might argue that you can't mess up melon and ham, which I had to start, the chicken dish I had for main was excellent. Really well presented and in sufficient quantities to fill you up. The tastes were delicately matched with each other. Lovely! I went off the Prix Fixe menu for dessert (had the goats cheese board), again it was lovely. Everyone in our party was more than happy with their food choices.

The service was excellent. Attentive but not too over-board. The staff were professional, knew their stuff when questioned about the way things were prepared and cooked The wine waiter was particularly helpful and knowledgeable.

Fine dining is something I do rarely, but my experience at La Chappelle may entice me to indulge on a more regular basis.
