We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel. I was told it was a really nice upscale pub as I wanted pub food.
Well the attitude is horrible. We were seated in the restaurant. I saw burgers on the grill. I was told that if I wanted a burger I have to eat in the bar/pub, normally I would not mind but the seating is horrible. It was lunch time and not noon but after 1pm and the place was not packed by any means. Big delivery truck in front right at the time when diners would be coming in delivering whatever to them.
A nice restaurant would have accomodated my request as I was with my husband and he was going to eat of the restaurant menu. But no, and when I said this is a pub, I was corrected that it is a "steak house and the oldest in London"
Big deal, may be the oldest and yes you serve steak but after asking around to Londoners who know their restaurants and city and back at the hotel I was told it was a pub back when and always will be a pub (upscale).
We landed up leaving, paying for our bottle of water. Overall they knew we were tourists and kenw there would be no repeat business so why bother I guess.?
I can't say about the food, never got to try it. I could care less about the prices, I would have paid the price of a pudding if they asked, I just needed to eat something that would agree with me.
