“Average pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Ok for a quick pint, with a nice range of ales and lagers. They let me sip before i supped, and I found the people behind the counter friendly. So all good there. But the food really was mediocre (at best) compared to other pub grub I've had in London and the table was stickier than fly paper - although that's not too uncommon in any pub.

“Decent pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Good Beer, good service, cheap prices and decent food. For 10 pounds you get dinner and a pint. Pub has its own cask ales which were good.

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We were staying in the area and were so glad we chose this pub for a place to eat.
Really good food and there was an offer on at the time we visited £10 for one course and a drink which must have saved £5 a person, great deal. I had fish and chips and my husband had steak and chips, both meals were very good. As we had had the smaller portions of main meal we had room for pudding which was great, we both had apple crumble and these were not small portions, big portions! Lovely crumble.
We ate in the downstairs dining room which was a very nice pub room, had a good atmosphere. The pub upstairs was busy but not overcrowded on a Tuesday night, the dining room downstairs became full quite quickly after around 7:30.
The wait staff were great, very friendly and gave just the right amount of attention to make sure our dining experience was just right.
We now just wish this place was closer to home, we'll definitely be back next time we're in London.
