“Authentic Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

When in London, make sure to try the fish and chips at Golden Union. I guarantee you will not leave on an empty stomach. They only use the freshest fish and potatoes and change the oil regularly. I was pleasantly surprised. Would also recommend a side order of mushy peas.

“Best Fish N Chips - Casual, Reasonable, Yummy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

We wanted the authentic fish and chips experience while on our London vacation, and came across this place after a web search. It's a super casual, clean and straight to the point restaurant - you want fish and chips, you came to the right place. There are a variety of fish types to have, but we stuck with cod, and it was awesome! The chips(fries) were also super yummy - crispy outside, cooked to perfection on the inside... kinda like big chunky In-and-Out fries from CA, that have that same fresh made today taste. The beans were straight out of the can type, so I would't bother unless you are really craving them. They have a good selection of drinks and some other menu items, but we stuck with the main draw. The staff were super friendly and attentive, even though the place was quite busy. We felt like we had a great meal, had a real London experience and went away wishing we had found this place earlier in our vacation.

“Not Bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Walking along Oxford right after landing in London and hotel check-in, ran into this restaurant.

The people greeted us from behind the counter was nice, told us eating in would cost more for the same thing.

The fish is quite nice, and portions are large. The overall price range is fine for a spot on the Oxford.

However, the restaurant charges service separately. Maybe this is listed on the menu or on the price board, but to be honest we weren't aware until seeing the bill.

“Good chippy but nothing too exciting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

Firstly, great fish and chips. Soft, clearly fresh haddock with a very light beer batter and the chips were perfect. If you fancy fish and chips this is the place. Service was average along with the price but this place doesnt offer much to seperate itself from any other decent fish and chip joint. Average £15-20 per head for meal and drink
