I usually frequent Gigs Fish and Chip Bar/Restaurant, which is situated behind Goodge Street station, but today I was shopping in Soho so picked up some chips at this place. I wish I'd waited. Now, to be fair I didn't order any fish- of which I am glad as the oil would surely have ruined that too. The chips were terrible! Dry, stiff, tasting like they'd been fried in cardboard and interspersed with boiling hot chips (the server had just thrown a portion on top of these decidedly cold fingers of disappointment) I was very disappointed. I ate 7 chips before giving up and deciding the £2.25 I'd paid wasn't worth the growing sense of despair in my stomach. I chucked them (sorry) in the bin and tottered round to Gigs to help erase the bad taste in my mouth. I'm sorry I left you Gigs. What a waste of money and food. Oh, and the chips were shovelled frozen into the fryer.
