I would rather call this a tragedy night than a comedy night. We went to the Covent Garden gig on 27th April. The compere, Jonny Freeman was by far the funniest there last night! So at the beginning we were full of hope, but then it just all went downhill... Geoff Norcott was moderately funny. Edward Aczel has a very special performance style, I personally don't think that it's got anything to do with making people having a good time... Dougie Dunlop - just a big disappointment, we didn't even wait for the end of the show. Maybe it was just an unfortunate selection of comedians. Other than this we bought standing tickets, but because the room was miles away from full (actually, even tables that were booked were not taken, can't blame those poor people who didn't turn up, they didn't miss out at all...), so given there were loads of spare chairs in a corner we got some chairs for ourselves. 2 minutes later the bouncer lady tells us the following: "You can't actually sit down because you didn't opt to pay the £2.50 extra that you were offered" - now this is hilarious!!! I think this was actually the funniest part of the night. Besides being ridiculous, it is also very funny how someone can be so narrow-minded - I mean the place wasn't even full, and how dare we sitting down... Oh well, anyway, we are never going back there and don't recommend it at all. Can't say much about the pub itself, though, that might be good.
