“Avoid - money taken from credit card without consent before you arrive and that's just the start!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We paid £87.50 (which was taken off my credit card WITHOUT my consent prior to our arrival!!!) to stay here and it was the biggest waste of money ever - we ended up not even staying the night and came home to our own bed! Dingy rooms, the toilet door touched the toilet, the bathroom was THAT small! The trim around the bath was hanging off and the room was about 40 degrees!!! There was obviously some sort of work going on, as when we arrived the hallway had all sorts of stuff all over it! The keys are all on show in the tiniest reception ever, literally an arms length away from where you stand and the reception is left unmanned while they go and sit outside for a fag break!
We are the sort of people who are happy with most things if we're just staying for 1 night, we're not at all fussy - and even if this room had been £19 like a premier inn we'd still have been disappointed... Nearly £90 is the biggest rip off EVER - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!

The rooms were litteraly falling apart. Floors moving, holes in ceiling of bathroom and tiles falling off the walls. Breakfast unedible set in dark enclosed cellar.Situated on what seems like main route for ambulances to nearby hospital- lots of noise 24/7. Stay away!!

This is the most disappointing hotel l have ever stayed in!
No soap in bathrooms, hot water stops running, lift breaks down for 2 days.
No amenities in the very small rooms,
The internet is £2.50 per hour, when the lift breaks down that means down and up 4 floors to pay.
I would highly recommend all travellers to look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

Well where to start?
Not clean, not attended at night and the room is not even close to what the pictures show. When we came to the hotel at 1am we just took our key from the unattended reception and walked up to our room. Bathroom is unclean and towels and bedlinen feels like they came from a vintage store.

Honestly, I didn't read the various reviews on this particular hotel until I was on the train to London (yeah I know... big mistake NOT reading before booking). Thus I entered the hotel with a gloomy feeling. The lobby and receptionist were exactly as written by other reviewers. To my surprise my room on the 1st floor was much better than expected! It was clean, the linen and towels were fresh, the bathroom freshly renovated and a hot and steady sprinkling of water in the shower cabinet. I even slept well on the infamously soft 'Londonish' mattress! Yes, the walls are paper thin and it can be noisy at times. But then again, I've stayed in much noisier and more expensive hotels elsewhere. Yes, the room wasn't exactly a beauty but rather functional looking. And yep, there is no remote control for the TV set, but frankly I don't care. I didn't come to London to watch TV! Perhaps I was just lucky and had one of the better rooms!

I can recommend it for one or two nights if you don't have high expectations, and are just looking for an affordable place. The proximity to Paddington station and Hyde park is a plus.

Stay away if you don't want to feel like you have been seriously ripped off. Hotel standards is appalling and not worth the price charged. We booked it because it was close to the station and the famous Paddington Pub, which in my opinion is not that great too. The rate one night was 40 pounds and the very next day it was 135 pounds!!
Not a quality hotel for that rate. Don't be fooled. It is crap
