Arriving at Sketch immediately you realise you're somewhere rather different, theres a hopscotch as you walk in and the bloody stairs that lead to the lecture room leave you curious!
I requested a tour of Sketch as I'd heard so much about it and each room surpassed my expectations. The Library is fantastic, each chair and piece of cutlery is different and there's a great vibe, the pod toilets are fascinating and it all feels very Alice and Wonderland.
After the tour we were taken to the lecture room which is where we seated for the 7 course taster menu ( they have a vegetarian option ). The room is just divine and the service is fantastic, I was even provided with a table to lay my bag on - it's the little things!
Having two Michelin stars I had high expectations when the first course came, but was left a little under whelmed. The Earth and Sea, Paris Mushroom & Jelly dish was rather tasteless, the Oyster was different but didn't leave me wanting more, the Scallops were delicious but then I felt dissapointed with the Chicken. However the puddings were absolutely fantastic and our Somelier chose a superb bottle of wine which seemed to acompany every dish fantastically. The toilets in the lecture room are very quirky and deserve a visit. I've still not formed an opinion, I expected more from the food however the service and decor is just superb and definitely warrants a visit.
