My husband, nephew and a firend came for afternoon tea recently. Having had afternoon tea at Claridges in the past - at more than double the price per person (£18.50 with an afternoontea.co.uk offer) - I can tell you that Dukes is friendlier and tastier - and more relaxed.
The tea is lovely, and you get a selection of sandwiches (cucumber, salmon, roast beef, ham), followed by scones, tea bread and teacake, followed by the most amazing cakes (if you die before trying the chocolate brownie, I can tell you, you have not lived!). Also in the cakes are a delicious pannacotta, goo-ey lemon merangue, mini eclairs and madelleines.
You'd pay £18pp for lunch - so why not treat yourself ot tea here? Big mention also to our AWESOME waiter Bartos, who deserved every penny of his tip.
