“Authentic Greek Taverna, popular with locals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Really enjoyed our Saturday evening meal at the Konaki -- the place was really buzzing with what appeared to be locals and the food and Greek wine (Nemea Montenero) went down really well. Location is great, close to British Museum, and it was fun comparing some of the models of Athena, Dionysus and Hermes above the bar with the real ones in the Museum the next day!

I had the lamb cutlets (Paidakia), my wife the Moussaka and my son the Steak and all three of us were very pleased. The Kataifi for dessert (shredded pastry, honey, nuts) was awesome, even if it did look a bit like Dougal from the Magic Roundabout!

Seriously though, would certainly go back and happy to recommend.

“Nice enough but slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Visited for a week day lunch for 5 people.

The service was extremely slow and laid back. The food however was just about worth the wait.

More for a laid back lunch or dinner.

“An agreeable evening”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

The service was one very good aspect about this perfectly agreeable (but unexceptional) Greek restaurant near the British Museum. We had a very enjoyable evening with many laughs and very generous portions of fresh, well cooked but undazzling food. I feel mean saying this when I nknow how much hard work goes into running a restaurant but I think it's fair to say that this is a great place to fall into if you're in the area, but not worth a special trip.

“Delicious Lamb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

I ate here very recently on the advice of a friend of a friend and it was very good indeed. There is a good variety of choice, it caters for all tastes and at very reasonable prices. I found the service excellent and will certainly be back again for more of their lamb kleftiko. My mouth is watering at the thought of it now. Go and enjoy.

“Great find - must eat here if you are near the British Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

My family stumbled upon Konaki after visiting the museum. We did not have any expectations of what we were about to be treated to. The staff were very helpful and guided us to some excellent dining choices. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The prices were fair.

We would recommend this place very highly! Well done!
