“London calm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Ten is a small boutique hotel, it is tucked away a short walk from Oxford Street and Baker Street. It is calm, peaceful, well appointed and the service is excellent. Rooms are well appointed, modern, spacious by London standards and clean. I have been staying in numerous London Hotels for many many years on a regular basis, none of which I can honestly say deserve a decent review. This one is the exception. If you are a smoker this is also the one for you as there is a private smoking terrace, if you are a non-smoker then do not worry as there is no smoke smell anywhere else. Breakfast is very expensive and not particularly good so just step out turn left and then left again and enjoy a very good breakfast at the Giraffe café. Too near to Galvin's in Baker St to eat dinner in the hotel. Also lots of other local places to eat.

Room Tip: If you are a smoker choose a room with its own balcony, patio.

We were greeted and seated in minutes a really personal service and made to feel special. The hotel is contemporary and nicely appointed. Small but well designed dining room. Good menu and great wine list. New chef is fab excellent meal. Stayed in both a superior and junior suite both were fantastic. Will definitely stay here again. Easy shopping and cafe culture at this location and only 10 mins walk the Oxford Street.

Room Tip: 408 superior and 404 junior suite

The hotel has been fairly recently refitted and the rooms are very well furnished. Maybe not 5* as billed, but certainly 4*. The in-room coffee and tea making is basic but adequate - fresh milk available instead of the UHT if that is your preference - a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom well fitted (shower only in my Deluxe room, but may be the bathrooms are bigger further up the room scale. Did not eat in the hotel as on business and I dont do breakfast, but and there are good local restaurants (including a 1* Michelin) within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again, especially if they have an offer on, as the room was reasonable, but not cheap, for this part of London. Very quiet location is a big plus, although rooms at the back are overlooked - not a problem but keep the curtains drawn!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not overlooked

This hotel is in a quiet street, so no traffic noise. Only 5 mins walk from Baker Street tube so very easy to get around. We had a garden room which had a little outside terrace with a heater and table and chairs, nice touch! The room was very clean and well appointed, good shower! Staff were friendly and professional.

from the moment we arrived here we were delighted with the hotel.
we had a nice room on the second floor at the front and was amazed how quiet it was.
the room was not huge but that is london rooms sizes, but plenty big enough for two people the bathroom was very well appointed and spotlessly clean.lovely toiletries and fluffy towels.
the rooms have a safe and tea/coffee and all the usual things.
breakfast was very nice in the restaurant on the ground floor, lovely room with a nice selection of pastries and fruit.we both had the full english breakfast which was served from the kitchen and used quality ingredients. we felt very well set for the day ahead.
manchester street(marylebone) is a perfect location if you are in london with or without a car, baker street tube is only 3 minutes walk away and you can also walk to oxford street in the same time , its near top end by marble arch. after going through lots of websites and reviews really feel we picked well and would return.

Overall it is a good hotel. The location near Oxford Street is ideal for shopping, not far from Baker Street tube station. It is on a quiet road and was not noisy. The room was a reasonable size (London hotel rooms tend to be small). The room was clean, comfortable, the facilities good and the decor stylish. The only meal we had was a continental breakfast which was expensive, but the people serving it were good. There is free WiFi although one has to re-enter the password on each reconnection.
Watch out for a service charge and gratuity on your bill. This is optional but is added on anyway ! Otherwise everything is OK and we recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 101 is in the basement and under the front entrance. However, although we heard some footsteps...
