Fantastic location... and that's all it's got going for it!
We actually booked into a 2 bedroom apartment (managed by Access apartments) in Victoria - which looked great on the website. Unfortunately we never got to see it. We were told that they had a "boiler" problem in our apartment so could they move us to a 3 bedroom apartment in Marble Arch. I said ok thinking it would be the same standard. How wrong can you get!! The Marble Arch Hotel was a 3 bedroom youth hostel which might have been alright when I was 18, but certainly wasn't appropriate for a family with a 3 year old and an 18month old!
It was worn, grubby, the power points were pretty dodgy with some starting to come off the wall. The beds were horrible, the whole apartment smelt, and there were great holes underneath the windows that let a terrible draft through - we had to plug them with toilet paper so the kid's room would stay warm.
When we complained to management about this, their response was that we had agreed to being moved and we could leave when we wanted - a little hard when everything's full and you have two small children to cater for!
To top it off, our last 24 hours there was done with pretty much no water. We finally had drinking water in the kitchen by 9.30pm of the night before we left but no showers or baths etc. The water still wasn't on when we left.
I've been trying to contact management to get a discount for the last 24hrs... two weeks on and no-one will ring me back. POOR FORM ACCESS!!!!!
I would not recommend this company or any of it's establishments to my worst enemy. They are happy to take your money, but if something goes wrong they do not want to know you!!! Appalling corporate behaviour!!!!
Book at the rather excellent Excel Apartments at the docklands instead. It's a short train ride to the city centre [5 mins] and the apartments are great.
