“Comfortable and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

The Indigo Hotel, Paddington is part of the Intercontinental Hotel Group. I have stayed at many Crowne Plaza hotels and several Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties but this is the first time for me in an Indigo hotel. I found the staff to be welcoming and friendly and the lobby, although small, is very clean and presentable.

As a Priority Club Platinum member I was told I was being upgraded to an executive room, and to be fair it contained amenities that I believe are not available in a standard room. However, the room was tiny by comparison with the Crowne Plaza at Blackfriars, or the one at London Docklands, which are both very well appointed.

The shower room at the Indigo Paddington was excellent and the bed was comfortable although very high. I am considered tall for a woman but still felt that I needed a mounting block!

The breakfast was excellent and the hot food was cooked to order, which makes a pleasant change from food stored on a hotplate and the service was very good.

The hotel is about two minutes walk from Paddington Station, which is very convenient, and tubes to both the city and Westfield Shopping Centre are available as well as the mainline station.

All in all I would stay here again, for the convenience and value for money.

To the General Manager and the IHG,
We have stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion. Each stay is good but this one was the best yet. For anyone looking to stay at a hotel in the Paddington area, do not look further than this lovely boutique hotel. It is less than 3 minute walk from the station. The rooms all come with a very nice overhead rain shower. The rooms are very much bigger than other hotels in the same area. We can say, without a doubt we feel as if we were a well know celebrity couple and this is due to the way we have been treated. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean, if we needed extra supplies, i.e. shampoo, soap, shower get, coffee, tea we phone down to reception, gave them our room number and within moments there was a knock at the door with those items we needed. The breakfast is quite substantial, and other hotels cannot compare to the quality or quantity of this breakfast. They also serve very good food in the evening. We cannot fault any part of this hotel. When we say do not look any further, we mean do not look any further. Value for money, it cannot be beat.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are a good size, but the executive rooms are very large. This is in comparison to ot...

whilst travelling to London to visit family and view a west end performance stayed at this Hotel for one evening. It was one of the most pleasant stays in London for some time and the service provided by the staff was second to none. I work with the public myself and know how things can be . but in all fairness, Excellent well done to all staff. unable to fault this Hotel at all.

Central London hotels have a bit of a reputation for being small. This is no exception.

Staying for one night on business the hotel is a couple of minutes from Paddington station. Check in was OK although the lobby area was cramped.

My room was small. Very small with a double bed and not much room for anything else. There was a small working area tucked into a corner and a good sized bathroom (shower only. No room for bath tubs here)

The standard of the furnishings and fittings was however top notch.

I ate in one of the many restaurants that surround the hotel before retiring for a good nights sleep. I should point out that whilst the hotel does have it's own restaurant, it doesn't have a bar area where you can just sit and chill. Sure you could sit at a table in the restaurant but that's just not the same

I did have a good nights sleep.

The following morning, breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent and even though in my case it was included in the room rate, I noted that the normal price was somewhat cheaper than most other hotels (£10 rather than the usual £15)

So why only 3 stars?

Price!

My room rate for one night including breakfast was £185. Even for central London, this is expensive. Yes it is a nice hotel and is more of a boutique style but for this location and the size of the room anything over £150 for the night is just too much.

Dear MarkRoddis,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel and I am pleased to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

Due to the nature of the building, bedrooms do vary in size. All rooms however provide facilities and amenities guests can expect from a 4 star Boutique hotel as well as, as you have noted, very high quality furnishings and fittings.

We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Kind regards,

Jalila

I stayed in The Indigo Staff friendly Location good but website states deluxe rooms have a bathroom . Well it is a well appointed shower but no bath so not a bathroom in my opinion. .Given the price I would have expected one. Overall better value elsewhere.

Dear Tony Q,

Many thanks for your review and we are pleased to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

All our rooms do have spa inspired rain fall showers. The term bathroom is used in the hospitality industry wider term and in this case not meaning that bath tub are available. We do apologise if the term has created any confusion.

Thank you once again for your review and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind regards,

Jalila

Just a couple of minutes walk from Paddington station, this hotel has a really convenient location. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the rooms, though a bit on the small side, are done out with really pleasant modern decor. Only small downside is the lack of sound insulation. You will find a pair of ear plugs kindly provided by your bedside. You will soon find that you may really need them. In the room I was in, I could hear the people next door talking. A hotel in this price range should really provide better sound insulation!

Dear Gordon766,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and I am very pleased that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

The insulation of the rooms was taken into account when the hotel was redesigned. It is however something we will look into.

Kind regards,

Jalila
