“Clean Apartment Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2010

We chose the apartment on the basis of the location and that it could fit a family of four comfortably with some 'space' after a 2 week bus tour up from Rome. No problems on checking in and it was what we had expected and hoped for - a spacious and comfortable apartment in a good location. Yes it was a little 'old' in decorations and fittings but it was all we needed. No problems with noise from outside due to the added 'double glaze' windows. The included breakfasts at the Thistle Hotel downstairs were superb. If you are looking for 'five star' this is not for you but for a well located and functional apartment at a reasonable price it 'ticks all the boxes'. We had no problems with noise from the elevators - Unit 4 on the 9th floor. Would stay there again.

My husband, myself and 2 daughters stayed on the 11th floor during February. The apartment was clean enough but very run down and shabby. The door on the first bedroom would not close. Curtains were ill fitting and rails were hanging off. Wallpaper and borders were hanging. No extra/spare bedding or blankets. Windows were very draughty, cills were unpainted and peeling. Tables were all marked and stained. Very little kitchen equipment supplied and one rusty frying pan. No toaster. An old cooker with knobs almost impossible to turn. No cleaning materials, no drying cloths or towels not even disposable ones. Cold water tap didn't work properly in kitchen. The only good thing we could say was the location. We were very disappointed for the price we paid.
The pictures advertising the apartments are totally misleading -if our apartment was anything to go by! If anyone wishes to stay in a London self catering apartment, please choose very carefully!

We have just returned from a 5 day trip to London, we stopped in a 3 bed apartment - number 1 on the 9th floor. We were very apprehensive after having read the many negative reviews on here but decided to take a chance and go ahead anyway.
The apartment was large- well big enough for the six of us (2 adults and 4 kids) but it really needed a good clean, the carpet was dirty in places (could do with a shampoo clean or replacement )and we had to vacuum it ourselves with the rather inadequate vac provided to make it half decent.
When we arrived on the Saturday one half of the apartment had no heating (the bedrooms) - this kicked in on Monday and it was very warm after that.
We ordered room service from the Thistle Hotel on the last night, this was prompt and the food was ok.
The kitchen was not massively stocked with implements but we had enough for our needs - a few more glasses would have been good, washer and dryer both worked. Microwave, hob and cooker all in place and working. The hot and cold water in the kitchen sink took some fathoming but once we'd worked out how it worked it was ok.
Freeview TV in living room.
Bedrooms - 2 with double beds and one with 2 single beds that we attached together to make one larger bed.
Bathroom with shower over bath, basin and loo.
Separate loo and basin.

Location wise - could not be faulted, right near Victoria station and on the "Big Bus Tour" route it was easy to get around, also there was an M&S and Sainsburys close by for provisions together with take away places also.

Overall the accomodation was adequate, location was great but next time we will try somewhere else.

Stayed in Sept for 2 weeks. We too had Apt 2, and we too, wept from lack of sleep due to the lift machinery through the wall. - We were lied to by management as were told no one had ever complained about the noise before. We also sat and waited in reception until 2.30 before our room was ready. It seemed to be the trend that no one got into their room before at least 2pm as it appeared that there were no domestic staff about the apartments until midday.
We were shifted into a 2 bedroomed apartment after four days; if we hadn't shifted we would have had to shift out and forfeit the accommodation we had paid for as that lift noise was unbelievable, just went all night. The new apartment was wonderful. Overlooked Buckingham Palace Rd, had double glazing and while in serious need of an upgrade, it was so central and roomy.
Kitchen was definitely ill equipped. Not even a can opener or tea towel and the vacuum cleaners were so full of fluff that when you moved them (2 different cleaners I might add) the dirt fell out from the cleaner. Cleaning staff were just not interested in this - some staff couldn't communicate at all.
Never, ever, again and I hope someone who is involved in the complex does something about the apartments as at present it is a huge slap in the face for Thistle Hotels.

When I read the previous reviews for the Lakeview Court Apartments I must admit I was very apprehensive about staying here. However I am glad to report my fears were unjust!

Sure the place is dated & could do with some much needed decorative TLC but as a base for London my mum, sister & I thought it was great! If you are used to high end accommodation with all the works then LC Apartments are not for you. But if you are only wanting somewhere to throw your head down at night after jam packed days of sightseeing then this is ideal.

We stayed in Apartment 10 & it was fine, no pictures of bathroom mould to post up I'm glad to report! It was also clean & tidy, just a little dated. The beds & pillows were quite hard but after spending all day out & about, once our heads hit the pillows we were out for the count so didnt notice once asleep! Also in the 4 days we stayed here, our apartment was serviced twice.

In terms of location it was great. We had booked tix for Wicked & the theatre was literally a stone's throw away! Also Victoria Station & Underground were a less than 5 min walk, so convenient. & tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace were around the corner & the Big Bus Company tour bus started its route from outside the front door. A Sainsburys Local & Marks & Spencers Food Hall were within easy walking distance for all our dietary needs.

In terms of eating out & nightlife, there were plenty of pubs & restaurants in the vicinity. We booked into Bumbles for my sister's birthday lunch & were not disappointed, & this was located right across the road from the apartments.

In summary, I would recommend Lakeview Court Apts if you want a basic, cheap & conveniently located base for a London trip.

We stayed at the Lakeview Court apartments in mid September. The apartments are very run down, but clean. We never used the kitchen except for storing drinks in the mini fridge, so cannot comment on kitchen, but it didn't appear to have many utensils. I never saw a dish towel or oven mitts. We washed our glasses with a bath towel. The beds are garbage. That is all they are good for. One bed was hard as a rock with springs poking through and the other bed was too soft with springs poking through. The beds were so bad that one of us slept the entire stay on the couch and one doubled the comforters on the bed to disguise the springs. The location is great, but very noisy, so if you sleep with the window open ear plugs are essential. The hallways leading to the apartments are disgusting really. Carpet was dingy looking and torn. We had no problem with the management. The concierge guys were very nice and helpful. We also had no problem with our included breakfasts (although not much to it that appealed to me). All in all, I would not stay here again.

We had the unfortunate experience of staying at this Horrid place. We arrived at about 3.30pm and were told our apartment wasn't ready, only got the keys at 4pm. Check in is at 2pm - 2 hours late, if we checked out 2 hours late they would have charged us.
The 3 bed apartment on the top floor we were given was filthy, the kitchen counter hadn't been wiped from previous guests, the dutbin was full and there were dishes in the drying wrack.
We were staying there for 5 nightsas part of a one month vacation and a washing machine was important to us as we were going on a cruise and wanted all our clothes clean. There was no washing machine in the apartment, we called reception and were assured that there was one waiting to be installed but no one had arrived to install it, we were promised it would be in the following morning. The next afternoon after being out all day we returned and of course no washing maching, eventually after much complaining they gave us a key to a 2 bed apartment one floor below so we could use the machine - this was not convenient. After 3 days another 3 bed apartment became available so we moved but only after having an argument with the incredibly rude manager. We travel a lot and have never encountered such an incompetent rude manager anywhere in the world - shocking!
Both apartments were dirty, the microwave did not work in the first one.
The passageways stink of damp and the carpets are ripped and there are damp marks on the walls.
The kitchen is Not equipped as advertised, we were not even given a dish towel, I used a small bath towel to dry a few things but cooking in the kitchen is impossible as there are not enough pots or utensils. We were in a 3 bed apartment we only had 3 plates and 3 forks and a couple of teaspoons and 4 chipped mugs.
There was no dvd in either apartment as advertised.
The beds are very uncomfortable and the pillows lumpy. The apartments are stuffy there is no airconditioning and if you open the windows it's very noisy.
Overall the apartments are not cheap and I am sure I could have done better if I looked around although it seems to be very difficult to find a decent apartment in London.
The apartments should be closed down stripped and completely redone it is a Dump in every way. I wish I had read a review like mine before - if you read this and stay there good luck you have been warned!!
