“Even during the London Riots a very safe, fun hostel/bar combo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

I've stayed here twice with gf's once in February at the main and the other was at the satellite hostel just a couple hundred yards down the road in August (During the infamous London riots which they beefed up ) When I stayed at the main site it was in an 8 bunk room. The room was nice and the other guests weren't excessively loud or bothersome so that made the experience more enjoyable. It was very convenient having the bar and restaurant right there. On the weekend the bar really got hoppin it was jam packed and the atmosphere was very lively. We also partook in the tour offered in the morning which was really good.
The second time round we were put up at the satellite hostel just down the block. It was slightly inconvenient to have to go down to the other building for the bar/restaurant or just general help from the staff. But we got the two bed private and the bathroom was right across the hall from it which was nice. The room did get a little warm and opening the window only allowed us to take in the nonstop scream of sirens but it eventually turned into white noise. The staff was pretty helpful and should keep up the good work. Would recommend to friends and wouldn't hesitate myself to stay again when visiting London.

We were in London for a couple of nights and needed a reasonable priced base for some sightseeing. This hostel is n a great location and within easy reach of all the major attractions via the tube and numerous buses. The hostel is spacious, clean and modern and the dorms are simple but clean and comfortable with high security (key cards). The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us with our plans. Belushi's is a great pub and the food is good - and be sure to spend enough time in Camden Town itself!
On the downside are the showers - you have to keep holding the button for it to work and there are no individual lights on every beds so impossible to unpack or anything without having to put the main lights on. It would have been nice too if every bed had a plug socket for recharging purposes.

Room Tip: Take a torch!

Where do i start? The ridicolous load music from the pub downstairs? The window that does'nt close? The dirty bed sheets? The idiot staff who got my booking completely wrong. Oh dont bother emailing them you will never hear back from them! When we got their they put my group in seperate rooms even though i had made sure we were all in one room 6 people = 6 room and emailed them about it. They LIED and said nothing was written in the notes when it was, AND LIED about the email i sent them as i could see it on the screen. There sorry excuse was that we checked in late so they gave our beds away. WTF!? I'd specified a late check-in time and we had dropped our luggage off early morning!!! I was furious and they offered no alternatives or no money back not even a free drink. Morons. We also paid £1 both days we kept our luggage their (early check in and last day checking out) they didnt write that on their website. The bathroom light didnt work someone was having a shower with the door open and my friend walked in. We were all females with 1 male in our grouped forced to sleep with strange men in our room.
Breakfast glasses and cutterly were muddy and dirty
Bathroom sink leaked very badly.
Emergency exits were always open.
Very noisy space.
Giant add in front of the hotel (i woke up to hammering and men shouting putting up a new add)
No Daylight in your room.
Rude staff.
I regreted it as sooon as i saw the place and wish i'd put in an extra £50 to stay at a nicer place
Oh and be prepared to lug your luggage up hugeee stairs.

Room Tip: First and second floors very noisy because of the bar.(i was in 206 and it came sometimes be heard)

Stayed here with a group of over 20 guys for 2 nights. Accomodation was fine for what one could expect from a hostel. It is attached to a bar called Belushis which serves good food and drink at very good prices and the staff there were very friendly.

Locationwise it is excellent too and is well served with public transport and shopping and bars etc.

I found the hostel location to be good, a tube ride into Central London, but a relatively short one so not a problem at all. Hammersmith itself has a good range of shops and restaurants to amuse you also. Belushi's was great, good food and cheap drinks. It was rather noisy for trying to contact home, but I was able to manage. The rooms were clean, and so were the bathrooms but sometimes the bathrooms smelt a little funky. Beware, there are heaps of stairs, so if you don't travel light, be prepared to lug your stuff up many flights of stairs!!! Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, some of the younger staff were a little rude. I would stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been more glad to get out of here. The first night of my stay i got bitten by bed bugs all over my legs and body. They changed my rooms and let me use their washing facilities to wash some of my gear (hot tumble dry is the solution) but it ruined the start to my holiday. Was not particularly impressed with the way it was dealt with. Would not recommend this chain of hostels to anyone.

The hostel is far from the city center. We had a very tiny room with a window that cannot be closed and smelled so much of fat and oil. The sheets were yellow and disgusting. The bathroom was flooded because the window was painted on the wall. Staff were just worried about the bar and were not nice. No common room or kitchen.
