“Great price, top location, fantastic atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

I loved my stay at YHA London central, I even extended because it was so good. Very reasonable price, extremely accessible location right near oxford street, soho and everything you could want as a tourist, and the people are extremely friendly. I did the free walking tour which was great fun. I made a heap of friends and my roommates were top notch. Bathroom was okay.. Bring some flip flops or sandals to wear in the shower and a lock for the locker. Recommend for an affordable stay in London in a very decent hostel!

i really like this hostel in london. it's my favourite one. i think this is very good if you travel in 4 (or multiple) as you could take an ensuite room for a very good price (in london centre). never tried dormitory. room is not so big but the bathroom is fantastic! and you could also use the one on the floor if you are 4 people and need multiple showers. always and totally clean.
very friendly staff. you have to pay for wifi (expansive) or computer use (average prices). modern building, modern large kitchen, modern hall. You can buy food or drinks at a reasonable price and eat watchin' a huge satellite tv.

Room Tip: especially for 4 (or multiples)

Two nights stay in the centre of London, what a treat. Great fun atmosphere, lively but not too busy. simple with clean and pleasant rooms and a great self-service kitchen. The staff were all really helpful. My wife was very pleased to find a beauty room with hairdryers in. Great value for money, you won't be disappointed.

Really enjoyed my stay here last month. Excellent pizza and brilliant breakfast and reasonably priced considering this place is in central London. Pretty good facilities for disabled people - be aware leave the corner tables and bottom bunks empty for wheelchair users if you can - nice clean bedding, a lovely mix of visitors (all ages and types, singles, couples, families) and very friendly, helpful staff. Lots of info, and maps for sightseers, plus reduced price tickets for theatres, clubs etc and a What's On Board. An excellent place. Very central too. I reduced the rating for rooms to "Very Good" only because it was a very small windowless room. For my friend in her wheelchair user, it was a bit awkward shifting around with 3 bunkbeds and four huge sets of luggage when we arrived. A notice such as, "Please reserve bottom bunks for wheelchair users." would be helpful as we had booked in advance and when we arrived late, had to move someone's stuff from the bottom bunk for my friend. We will still stay again. We had a great time and I'll be recommending to all my friends. Much more fun than a posh hotel.

Room Tip: Tell them if you're a wheelchair user when you book, if you can. Perhaps that'll give staff...

It was a while ago that me & my 4 friends stayed here but I just started writing reviews to others considering I have enough with reviews of my own. As a restaurant owner, knowing the kitchen, I can say only the best. We had a great time all in all & left with no complaints. Friendly young staff was very helpful. I wish you all the best in the future. Hope to visit again sometimes.

Great position within the centre of the city, about three minutes or so by bus from Oxford Street and less than ten minutes from Trafalgar Square, tube station approx. 5 minutes in distance. Tesco and Sainsbury's as well about five minutes by foot. Kind and nice staff willing to help you, tidy small rooms with wardrobes and many slots, kitchen accessible for all hosts, furnished with all the things which you can need in a kitchen. The only one problem which I've noticed was an inkling of a little mildew or mould on the shower curtain. In brief: for its unbelievable price, location and service is this hotel one of the best. If only a hotel like this one was in every city in the world...

Room Tip: Don't be afraid, all the rooms are the same quality.

My boyfriend and a friend of ours stayed here for just one night while we did a whirl-wind tour of London. We stayed in a four-bed room with our own bathroom and we found it to be quite nice for the price. The hostel itself was huge and there were always a lot of people in the lobby area. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We went out the night we were there and got back later and the lobby/cafeteria was packed with people from all over the world. We ordered food and enjoyed eating in the company of everyone. If you are looking for a fancy place, this isn't for you. It is great for those only staying a few nights or just looking for a resting place while they enjoy the sights of the city. It was more than adequete for us and I would stay here again.
