“Really disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

I have visited this gastropub several times during the year. It is cosy and has a lovely atmosphere. The food used to be good... Unfortunately on our vist there tonight I was sad to discover that the quality of the food had significantly deteriorated. The quality of the food was poor. My pie was too salty to eat. It arrived piping hot so by the time it had cooled enough my husband had finished his meal so there was no point ordering something else. Desserts were only average, the lemon tart had far too much meringue and was somewhat tasteless. The service was insincere and slow.
I agree with the other disappointed guests. There are far better gastropubs in the Chelsea and Fulham areas with much more reasonable prices. I certainly would not return nor recommend.

“thursday night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

met with some friends in this warm and friendly establishment just off the kings road, good choice of drinks to start with, varied menu of high quality dishes and excellent atmosphere throughout (partly the other guests but mostly from the helpful but unfussy staff). i had the sirloin steak in bordelaise sauce with chips, and it just might be the best i've ever had, along with a glass of their local brew (called 'pig's ear', naturally). my friends were also impressed with their food, so we'll be going back to try the rest of the menu.
i can't stress this too much, it's probably the most pleasant experience i've had in a gastro pub, it exceeded any other place of a similar ilk that i've been to, which includes edinburgh, amsterdam and boston USA. when you find a place that actively enables you to have a good time, why would you go anywhere else?

“Pretentious and rude staff did not make up for the egg!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Having taking my 91 year old grandmother to this pub, was horrified by the bar staff who refused us a chair outside until the pub opened. If this policy was even explained, it would not have been such a problem however he was highly dismissive, rude and disrespectful to us both. There was good pub grub, especially the scotch egg, but if we had the choice to walk any further we would not have stayed. Certainly will not be returning.

“best scotch egg ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

this is a very cute pub, nicely tucked away off the kings road, famed for great food i was pleasantly impressed when i just went for drinks, not particularly flashy this is a pub pub. The wine was great and the bloody marys great, but the scotch egg is exceptional!!! Definitely going back for this alone, and one to write home about. typically british... enjoy
