Description: The Prince of Wales located in the Upper Richmond Road in Putney is a brilliantly chic and contemporary British boozer. The restored nineteenth century facade belies the gastropub's stylish and cosy interior, and the light-filled dining room is always busy with a creative young crowd. The Prince of Wales menu boasts rustic traditional English dishes such as the crispy pig, dandelion and apple salad; lamb fritters with caper relish; hare and potato pie for two; and beer battered haddock with pea pure, tartare sauce and chips. Perfect for long, lazy Sunday lunches and nights out with friends, the restaurant at The Prince of Wales is a welcome addition to the Putney pub scene.

“AVOID!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Used to like this place but then got the slowest and rudest service ever, we were lectured about cooking and given excuses not apology for having to wait over an hour for food! Don't go there!

“Nice food, bit pricy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Went to the PoW for an early Saturday lunch pre-rugby - Starters were good (pigeon wellington & crab salad) but v. small, burger and bavette steak excellent as was the accompanying pint of Spitfire. The only issue was the cost £60 for two was just too much and maybe why we were one of only two parties eating. I understand that there is an £8.50 week day lunch deal - may be worth adding Saturday to the deal and ensuring that this beautiful dining room is filled the way it deserves to be.

“Good drinking pub otherwise a Masterchef nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

This pub is trying to be something it is not; gastropub prices and pretentious food which it fails to deliver well. My main for £19 (excluding sides) a Duck breast with cold, raw and bloody centre; "seared fois gras", just flabby, bitter pâté. It's a good pub for drinking with pleasant staff and a decent wine/beer menu. They should stick to what they do best - local boozer with basic pub grub on offer.
