“Terrible service avoid if you want a complete meal”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We ordered our food and only two main meals arrived. We kept asking where our other main course was and we kept getting excuses. After about 30 mins of chasing they said it had probably gone to another table! in that time they could have cooked a new dish. We asked for it to be removed from the bill but they just cancelled it instead! so we waited another 10 minutes not even knowing they had cancelled it. The worst thing was that they made no effort to fix the problem, they don't appear to have any customer services skills, we can only assume they rely on passing trade rather than regular customers coming back. Avoid at all costs

“Not good as used to be”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

I had been there three times along the years. Food used to be great. Resonable price. Not this time. Became very expensive but sadly not tastey. Good service

“Good food, okay service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

We had a two course lunch here one Saturday afternoon, the two courses were very good and the restaurant is lovely, it was slightly eat down by impersonal service. Would I go back, not at the prices they charge, for that money I want better service.

“Better than most of China Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We ate two lunches at the Royal China Club over the Easter weekend. The first time we had dim sum and one vegetable dish. Two of the dim sum were exceptional, tinglingly fresh flavours, freshly made. The scallop dim sum was so good we order a second portion. If that first lunch hadn't been excellent we wouldn't have returned. On our second visit we ordered the two exceptional dim sum from our initial visit but they weren't quite as good as two days earlier. Perhaps the fact that the restaurant was extremely busy accounts for that, which is not to forgive this drop in quality. In addition 4 baskets of dim sum we had an extremely spicy soup and stir fried noodles with vegetables. The service was totally professional, efficient and friendly. Certainly superior to most restaurants in China town. Prices reasonable.

“Nice atmosphere, excellent food, perfectible service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

I like all Royal China Restaurants but I'm always -and still- wondering whether their premium Royal China Club brand is really worth an extra charge. Clearly, if what you are after are just excellent dim sum or some simpler dishes, you are better of, in financial terms, walking another 150 yards on Baker Street to Royal China Dim Sum - same owners, same food, lower prices...

Here, at RCC, the menu is a bit more sophisticated, especially as far as seafood is concerned and the wine list is well longer and carrying much broader selection of wines. The quality is absolutely excellent and the presentation very nice (by the way, do not miss Bejing duck nor hot and sour soup; unfortunately, the service is not at par with the venue and some homework is still needed there...

For a Sunday lunchtime, the restaurant is a totally packed, with a nice buzz giving a bit of an Asian feel to the place.

Will be back soon
