“Very pleasant olde worlde pub with excellent wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

My wife and discovered this place whilst walking the back streets around Regent Street. WE were pleasantly surprised by the olde worlde character and pleasant atmosphere. The bar staff were very helpful and we (unusually) opted for a glass of wine. We had been to the Mission winery in Napier on the North Island of NZ and saw 2 wines on the menu and whilst the Riesling was out of stock we had an excellent Sauvignon Blanc.THis place specializes in pies and they have won awards and we will be back to try them.

“Great pub for a pie :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

Nice London pub , easy location close to all the main shopping streets.

Speciality : Ales and Pies

Lots of Youngs Ales choice which was a refreshing discovery , homemade pies, mash or chips etc. delicious !

Really good value for money at £10 a pie :))

Great place to stop and refuel after a day out !

Staff friendly

No children allowed due to license restrictions , saw plenty of families turned away due this ! Shame ! Still, more pie for me then :)))

Recommend you try it

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Behind Regent's Street and just off Maddox Street is this gem of a pub that has been here a very long time. A great selection of beers and a very high standard of food in the shape of pies- a fantastic selection of pies and all the usual dishes (fish&chips, sausage&mash, burgers etc) and prepared to a high standard. Eat and drink here with confidence............far from the madding crowd too.

“Love his place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

I have been eating here for many years whenever I visit London, in that time the one constant has been the absolute quality of the pies, the restaurant at the back is a great place for a meal with service.
I reckon I have introduced at least ten other people to the food here and not one person has had anything but praise for the food.
If you want a good English pub meal don't walk past and don't order anything but a pie.

“Pies R Us”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We wanted to have some “pies” for dinner. Our group of 4 picked this one based on several online rating sites. It was an excellent choice. We were able to get a seat immediately upstairs in the dining room. Two of us ordered the Shepherds Pie and 2 the Steak and Mushroom Pie. Friendly service in a casual pub like setting. Definitely would recommend.
