I first discovered this restaurant via Twitter (@TerraLondon), it was nearby, so I thought I'd give it a try.
From the moment we walked through the door we were treated like royalty. The owner himself first greeted us and made us feel very welcome. The head waiter, Gabi, then looked after us for the rest of the night. It was a friendly and attentive service and they made it feel as though nothing was too much effort.
The food lived right up to the brilliant standard of the service. To start we had the Terra platter, with some homemade bread and olives. Perfect start for what was to come. I had the Risotto di Salmone. I don't often choose risotto in restaurants, but this was delicious. My guest had the Duck, which was tender and cooked just perfectly. Portion sizes were generous. I would happily return just so I can try some more of this fabulous menu!
Terra feels like a little slice of the Mediterranean, right in the heart of London. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, so feels tranquil, but is still in close walking distance to Oxford Circus, Theatreland, Soho.
Great for a romantic meal or quiet meal with friends, but they also have a larger room downstairs that caters for large groups.
Could not fault this hidden gem.
