“Very disappointing flavourless food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Because of my job I tend to eat out 2-3 times a week and feel compelled to only write reviews either when a restaurant is either very good or very bad. In the case of Dalil, Batteresa it is the later.
Starter was a hummus was very tasteless, lack of tahini, garlic meant that a Sainsbury’s saver hummus tasted better. (Hummus Brothers server tasty Hummus)
Next the main which was the mixed grill, which to be fair the meat was cooked well and was the best part of the meal. However the mixed vegetable side, aside from being flavorless also contained sweet potato that was still raw. This was raised with the waiter who informed us that this is how the sweet potato was supposed to be, because it was grilled it was not possible to cook it longer.
We did not bother to order dessert. A drinks order included a £7.50 cocktail served in a wine glass that appeared to be nothing more than a fruit juice with a shot of vodka
We were presented with a total bill of £80 which was discounted to a total of £60 with our Groupon “discount” but I could not help feel that my local kebab shop serves better quality food at a fraction of the cost
On a positive note the restaurant décor was pleasant although the strange choice of dance music played on a loop was not .

“Faultless”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

The food is as good a Lebanese as I've had in the UK. Excellent meze starters and superb main dishes, particularly the chicken dishes which are cooked to perfection. The service is also very friendly and professional. A great dining experience at a restaurant well worth seeking out.

“A rare find - highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

My husband and I have just returned from our second visit to Dalila and are just as enraptuted as the first time we visited, which was last month. The atmosphere is relaxed and classy, yet unpretentious and the service is excellent. All the staff are friendly and attentive and come to the table with big smiles, making you feel welcome and at ease. The food is delicious - freshly prepared, nicely presented and the flavours are mouth-wateringly good. We particularly recommend the samke harra - grilled fish, hommous balila, haloum meshwe and jawaneh - charcoal grilled, marinated chicken wings. As a vegetarian, I am delighted to have such a good selection of tasty (meat-free) dishes too. The food is very good value for money and using our tastecard makes it even more affordable, so we can come more often. The beautifully sweet baklawa was a lovely way to end the meal. We hope this restaurant continues to thrive. - will certainly be back! Thank you very much!

“Excellent food and service!! One of the best restaurants in London!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

I already tried almost everything in the menu and it's all very good, but my favourite is the Halloumi Cheese, the Fatayer Spinach, Lebanese sausages and the Roasted Lamb (very juicy and well cooked).
The ambience is superb and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Me and my friends often go there when we want to dine together and have a good time, it feels like home!

“Not impressed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Dont understand how this restaurant can have such a high rating. We went last night, 5 of us, and tried to use our groupon voucher for four. We were told the extra person has to have the same menu as the rest of us - two starters, one main, and a glass of wine, for £27. We decided to use our tastecard instead. We ordered five starters, five main courses, and a a few sides - a fair selection from the menu. My starter - lebanese sausages cooked in some lemon/garlic sauce, was awful. The texture of the inside of the sausages was like crumbs, and the sausages. The taste was very one dimensional. The main was chicken slice cooked in "special sauce". The piece of chicken was so large, so charred, so dry, ... Awful. I have eaten in much better lebanese restaurants than this.
