Description: If romance is in the cards, London's most romantic restaurant is Covent Garden's multi award-winning Clos Maggiore. Echoing the charming country inns of Provence and Tuscany, the warmly muted decor, low lighting and welcoming log fire were clearly designed with love in mind. The skylight is surrounded with twining, flower-starred branches to resemble an Italianate courtyard, a delightful faux-rural treat in the city centre. Seasonally inspired classic French cuisine coupled with impeccable service is the order of the day at Clos Maggiore restaurant, with a focus on chic presentation and bold flavours. The range of menus include a six-course “tasting menu” featuring such dishes as “Seared Wild Scallops, Ratte Potato & Winter Truffle” and “Pan Roasted Fillet of Cornish Cod, Olive Oil & Basil Pomme Purée”. In addition Clos Maggiore serves a reasonably priced, regularly changing set lunch and pre-theatre menus. To find the perfect complement Clos Maggiore’s extensive cellar includes over 2,000 labels and was extended earlier this year to include an additional 400 wines at a low – mid price range. They have been awarded the “Best of Award of Excellence” consistently since 2003 by Wine Spectator. The Michelin Guide and AA Restaurant Guide have fêted their wine selection as worthy of note. Clos Maggiore has been voted in the “Top Ten” categories for “Best French Restaurants‟, “Best Ambiance‟ and “Special Occasion Restaurants‟ by opentable. Toptable lists Clos Maggiore as one of the most highly rated dining venues in London and Square Meal lists Clos Maggiore as one of the best restaurants with Private Rooms.

“Great restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

My partner Jake and I went to this restaurant recently for lunch. We requested a seat in the observatory which they were happy to do for us. The atmosphere was lovely. The tables were positioned far enough apart that you could enjoy a romantic meal. The service was great, they were attentive but not too attentive. The food was amazing and the wine selection was great. I highly recommend this restaurant!

“Delightful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

A small menu with an extensive wine list; beautiful food, impeccably served by professional and unobtrusive staff in an informal atmosphere. A table in the courtyard as was requested at the time of booking would have made for a perfect evening.

“My favourite restaurant in the area”

You'd never guess from the outside that such a pretty interior iis waiting to be discovered. The waiting staff were charming, helpful and friendly but completely unobtrusive. Food wonderful too.

“Surpassed my expectations...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

I have wanted to visit this venue for some time and luckily I managed to get a table for my Husband and me this Saturday. The restaurant had a lovely buzz to it, very elegant but also very friendly. The staff was very attentive without being obtrusive. We both had three courses which included scallops, Foie gras, a beautiful piece of Cote de Bouff which we shared and desserts of Eton Mess and a Chocolate pyramid with cherries and pistachio. The wine list was very long but the Sommelier was there to help, and the other nice thing is they had a very good list of wines by the glass too. They also served bread and warm baby cheese scones whilst we read the menus, these were lovely and added a little something etc which was a nice gesture. We finished the evening off with coffees and petit fours. The bill came to £169 (including service) which we both agreed was good taking into consideration the quality of the food and the total overall experience. We will definitely be going back next time we want to treat ourselves.

“romantic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012 via mobile

really nice interior but, and here is the most important part you need to know about Clos Maggiore, when booking a table make sure you ask for one in the conservatory. This is the section in the back with the skylight and is definitely the best section to sit in, especially if you are taking someone out for dinner.
We tried a few dishes on the menu and I can't rave about it enough. Superb
