“Great meeting place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

When in London this Fall we met up with friends in this charming bar in the equally charming boutique hotel bearing the same name. This bar/lounge is warm and clubby and really is a nice place to relax following a day of seeing the sights of this wonderful city.

“Best Martini in London Still!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Says it all really. But add to this the charming and attentive staff and a nice clubby feel. The background noise of American voices, which I love, and one comes up with a brilliant bar.

“The Best Martini in London...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

is the classic dry at Duke’s Bar (housed in luxury boutique hotel, Duke’s Hotel), a hidden gem in London’s bar scene. Rumor has it that, as a seasoned Duke’s Bar patron, Ian Fleming (of the James Bond fame) coined the catchphrase “shaken not stirred” here, so it’s no wonder why I felt like a [--] sophisticate sipping my classic dry vodka martini (you can choose your poison: vodka or gin). With its impeccable service and a bartender that just might be the world’s greatest martini genius (Alessandro), Duke’s Bar is one of my absolute favorite martini bars in the world. Located on one of the labyrinthine alleyways shooting off from St. James’s Place, Duke’s Hotel isn’t the easiest to find, but it’s all part of the adventure.

“Make James Bond proud.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

Dukes is the legendary bar where Ian Fleming was a regular. Make sure to go on a night when Allesandro is working, as he was one of Fleming's personal martini makers of choice. They bring a martini cart to your table, and handcraft a martini masterpiece right before your very eyes. Alessandro will happily give you the history of Mr. Flemings patronage, and you will not be disappointed by which ever style of martini you choose. Truly a peak experience for any martini connoisseur, or any James Bond aficionado.
