“Small but wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

The food, in this tiny restaurant, is excellent and offers a good range for vegetarians. The classic dish is okonomiyaki which is a type of pancake , cooked in front of you, on a high heat with many different kinds of filling offered. There's a good wine selection and the service is excellent. Atmosphere is not important to me when the food and service is so good. Booking is recommended.

“Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Based on trip advisor review, we decided to try this restaurant. Decent place and the food was good. My friends were not used to Japanese food, but they were very pleased with the food.

will try to go again if i am back in london again.

“Good for something different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

We went for dinner here one night after it was recommended by friends. Thankfully we booked as people were getting turned away already at 6pm. The set up with the hot plate in the middle of the table is good and the service was also good. It is not the kind of place to go if you are in a rush as we found out when we only had 10mins to finish our dinner. The drinks are expensive at £5.25 for a 125ml glass of wine and the whole dinner was not cheap but i am glad i gave it a go. Tasty food!

“always good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011

almost always busy, sometimes I have to wait in line to get in but it's always worth of waiting!this is not sushi lover place, this is place with japanese savoury pancakes(okonomiyaki) and some other hot food (and snacks). Not very cheap place, but also not overpriced and I believe it is the only one okonomiyaki place in London( it has two other branches). okonomiyaki are cooked in front of you on a hot plate and I promise it is hard to wait until they are done!and they are absolutely delicious.I had few chances to try okonomiyaki at London's japanese event's and they were always tasteless and overcooked. So if you want honest and tasty japanese food,Abeno is a must!

“Not sushi, but delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

We went to Abeno in August to catch up with some family. We were expecting sushi...but it is not!!!! Every table has a hot plate on it, and you chose something to be fried in front of you. The waiters are very friendly and the food is delicious! I'm afraid I couldn't advise what to chose, but it's a place where you won't regret being adventurous!
