I had read reviews on how good this place was and have previously tried to book a table (my finceees shift pattern proving to be the problem given the times we tried). I had read from here how good this restaurant was as well as reviews from family and so was glad to finally get a booking for my return week in Liverpool.
When presented with the menu, the choice was difficult in that there were so many course which sounded so good, I settled for the vension starter followed by the lamb shank and how glad I was.. The combination of the vension with pureed butternut, mashed potato and mushrooms with a smidgen of gravy was a dlight to the tastebuds, every bite a treat with a slight citric taste.
Onto the main course and the lamb on a bed of lentil, mash and vegetable was again delicious, The taste of the food had both my fiancee and I almost salivating as it was cooked to perfection and full of flavour.
It was a very pleasant surprise to note that the accompanying service was relaxed yet professional, there was no element of snobbery given the quality of the food and the waitress (special mention to Collette) was very attentative, friendly and a credit to the restaurant. The cost was very reasonable having enjoyed the experience so much and will definitely become a place that we visit more often. If you read this thinking "should I try it" all I would say is that you would regret it of you decide not to.
