There was approximately 24 of us stayed at this hotel for my friends hen weekend in june 2006.

The hotel is in a great location, we got the train to liverpool and a taxi from the station to the hotel which cost £4.

The hotel is a short walk to the local shops and most of bars. Its also walking distance to the docks (15 to 20 mins on foot).

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated.

Breakfast was an extra cost but definately worth it. It was a buffet styke breakfast which served a good selection of cereals, fruit, hot food and youghurts.......great hangover cure!

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and great at advising best places (pubs mainly) to visit.

The hotel bar was also a good meeting point when waiting for 24 girls to be ready!!!!!!

Basically we had a great stay and if I was visiting liverpool again I would certainly stay here.

A ferry across the Mersey is worth it provided its a warm day!

The hotel is a very good basic budget hotel. I spent a weekend at this hotel for a Liverpool match. Never been to Liverpool before and one of the best things about the Hotel is that it is about 2-5 minutes away from the main shopping (Church Street) and entertainment areas (Mathew Street/ Wood Street). I only caught taxis for airport and for Anfield stadium.

There are no frills like mini-bars, safes and the room has a limited space for storage and TV offers only the basic UK stations. Rooms are clean and spacious, with a good size bathroom and a powerful shower.

Staff were really helpful and the Hotel has a lisenced bar and an inhouse restaurant which was important on Sunday when it was raining heavily outside and decided to stay inside. (Liverpool is also a bit dead on Sunday evenings)

Breakfast is a bit expensive (STG 7.50) but english and continental are available and you can eat as much as you like, anything you like and take as many rounds as you want. Breakfast is not always included in the price, so you might have to pay extra, when you pay for the total stay at the Hotel which you have to pay on arrival and not on departure.

I will certainly recommended this hotel to anyone going to Liverpool!

We have just returned from a fantastic stay in Liverpool. We decided to stay at this hotel as we had vouchers, although we were both a little unsure after a poor experience in London. We really should not have been worried....

The staff were very friendly - some of the friendliest I have encountered in an English hotel. They were eager to help - where cashpoints where, places to eat etc. and always appearing friendly and approachable.

The room was also nice, although the bed was not as comfortable as expected (although we have just bought a new bed!). At £7.50 the breakfast may be expensive to some, but it is buffet/all you can eat style, and I like to have a big breakfast! They even made my wife a poached egg as she didn't want fried or scrambled eggs.

Overall, a very pleasant stay, which made the rest of our anniversary very enjoyable!

I stayed in this hotel last weekend and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a brilliant location. The room was really comfortable as well with a lovely, powerful shower. The breakfast is a bit pricey at STG7.50, but you can eat as much as you like. I would definitey stay there again if I was in Liverpool. It's great value for money. However, a few extras like shower caps would be handy.

Cheap and cheerful, with copious amounts of alcohol fuelling the cheeriness of most of the guests. If you're planning a hen or a stag, this is a safe bet for revellery. If you want anything else, apart from a cheap sleep, look elsewhere. We complained immediately after checking-in that our allocated room reeked of stale vomit, and we're rudely told by the hotel manager that he would not change our room for fear that we would do it again. It was only after the threat of a full report on tripadvisor that they changed the allocated room.

Do not use for special occasions,, as the hotel had the feel of the levels of luxury provided by Pontins or Butlins.

Both public areas and rooms are very basic - think vending machines stocked with Walkers & Mars. Room service was non-existent, instead the hotel provides housekeeping - changing towels and doing little else.

On the plus side, the location is very central. Breakfast, although over-priced, offered a wide selection. The staff in the restaurant were very obliging & accomodating - particularily towards young children and toddlers (breakfast for children is free of charge).
