“In need of renovation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

While the Receptionist was pleasant and helpful, there were a couple of problems. Firstly, the threadbare carpet in the stairs area. The second and more significant; we were on the First Floor and seemingly directly overhead was a very noisy water tank. Every time somebody used water in the building, it re-filled in a very noisy manner. As a result, a restful nights sleep was impossible.

Booked a room here 6 days beforehand, and it only cost £39 for one night. (It was a Tuesday booking) We decided on this travelodge for 2 very simple reasons,
1) Cost
2) FREE onsite parking.
Other places did not have onsite parking.
We had room 108 which overlooked the dock which we were happy about and it was very quiet and had very little traffic noise.
The room was basic and you would expect, nice clean bedding, toilet clean aswell, comfy bed. The only criticism would be the stoneage tv, if they were updated it would make it that bit more comfortable.

The room was of perfectly good quality for the price. Very comfortable bed, good curtains to keep the room dark, and quiet. I had a good nights sleep during my stay. There are no facilities at the travelodge at all though, with just a single vending machine in the reception area. My only complaints are that, despite booking a room for two people, there was only a towel provided for one, and no hairdrier in the room, this had to be borrowed from reception.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it was a good standard, what you would expect from a hotel chain like this. Our room was on the first floor, the bathroom was clean and the room was tidy. It's accessible for the city centre by taxi and is just a short drive to the main Docks. There is a nice little shop/cafe opposite for getting breakfast/lunch if you don't want to go back into the centre. Check in was quick, the receptionist was fine, I have no complaints really.
