The hotel is overlooking the harbour area, right opposite the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building, Museum of Liverpool etc. Also, it's just a 5-min walk from Liverpool One, a major shopping mall and a bus interchange.
There's a Tesco Express right beneath the hotel, meaning that you could buy fruits and breakfast at convenience. It's also right next to the James Street railway station.
Room was clean, big and comfy.
The only down side was that (as all Travelodge does) they strictly stick to the 3pm check-in time. We arrived at noon, and had to pay 10 quid extra for early check-in. There was no left-luggage service at the reception, and the nearest lockers are at Lime Street station, which costs 6 quids per item. But since we got the room at an unbelievably cheap rate, 10 quids are somewhat acceptable.
For the Liverpool fans who want to go to Anfield, here's my tip- take bus number 26 from the Liverpool One interchange, not 27! 26 and 27 serves the same route, but they go clockwise and anti-clockwise. It took me 45mins to get to Anfield on 27, but just 10 mins to go back to the city centre on 26.
