“Relaxing Guresthouse with a Great Proprietor”

Liz, the Proprietor, is an excellent communicator and very friendly and relaxed. If you're coming from Manchester, take National Rail to Southport and then hop on Merseyrail to Blundellsands and Crosby station. The Guesthouse is near by the station and in a wonderfully clean and safe neighborhood.

The people in the area are very friendly and the local shops a few minutes away have everything you need without any of the bustle of a big city.

The rooms are very clean and well appointed, the breakfast is great, there is plently of tea, water, juice, and chocolates in the rooms, and there is also wireless internet for your laptop. The en suite bathoom is clean and well furnished. I had no problems with water pressure or temperature.

Liz is very knowledgable of the local transportation to and from the city and the local airports and will arrange a taxi if you desire. If you have your own car then all the better.

In addition to Liverpool, you have easy access to Southport, a very lovely town 30 minutes north by train with tons of shopping.

I found the overall experience very comfortable and relaxing and left for Germany well fed, well rested, and relaxed.

  • Disliked — Not the best place to be on foot in the winter if you want to spend all of your time in Liverpool city center.

“Elegance and Comfort”

Stately English home and garden with gracious hostess. Huge, full English breakfast was fantastic. Room was large, extremely comfortable with added touches and comforts, upscale, huge white and gold bathroom with emormous shower, thick, thick cosy towels. Walk couple blocks through lovely neighbourhood to train station. Great area pub. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend.

Need a place to stay in Liverpool? I highly recommend Blundellsands Guesthouse. Located a few miles from the center of Liverpool and just a couple blocks from a frequently-running commuter train, Blundellsands Guesthouse offered comfortable and quiet accommodations. The owner was friendly and helpful, and made great breakfasts. My room was nicely decorated and spotless. The price was reasonable, too. I enjoyed my stay very much -- a great base from which to see Liverpool.
