The first thing you notice about this hostel is its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Staying here feels more like staying at a friend’s house then a hostel. The room I was in (a 14 bed dorm) was really spacious and everything was clean. There wifi worked well throughout the building. The showers and toilets were fine as were the laundry facilities which were £2 each for washing and drying. There are 2 kitchens, a small one in the reception area where you can help yourself to tea, coffee, cordial, toast and spreads all day, and a larger one downstairs where you can cook. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there from the city centre. I would probably recommend taking a taxi (about £4.50) or the bus (£1.70) if you have lots of luggage on arrival.
The only annoying things I found were that the beds don’t have individual lamps meaning we had our main light on until quite late each night and the lock keypad on the dorm door makes loud beeping sounds every time it’s locked or unlocked.
Overall I had a really good stay here, I met lots of great people, the staff are really nice and the beds are pretty comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
