The Solna Hotel was the venue for a very dear friends wedding held on New Years Eve. We can not praise the management and staff enough for their attention to detail on a most creative and visually stunning event.
The wedding itself included guests from all around the world, many of which were dancers, musicians, opera singers and artists with a sprinkling of children. The hotel was immaculate, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and cosy and the staff went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble. It would be very difficult to single out any member of staff for direct praise as the entire team were polite, helpful beyond the call of duty and extremley profesional, however, we would have to say that after meeting the two managers of this hotel we are not at all suprised that that this experience was nothing short of delightful.
We came from Germany to attend this wedding at the Solna and It is a credit to the management and the staff that they made our visit to this hotel and city so enjoyable that we prolonged our stay to experience a little bit more! Highly recommended!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in at this price range., the service was just magnificant, the staff are absolutly great, nothing is ever too much trouble. It has a great homely atmosphere, where you were made to feel so welcome The room I stayed was very spacious and spotlessly clean, with great views of the Liverpool's Sefton Park and it is only walking distance from Lark Lane. If you are coming to Liverpool and you want to stay somewhere with atmosphere Staff that care and great food then you have to stay at the Solna. The Hotel is also only a short taxi ride to the city centre.

“Grim, dingy hotel!”

Our room at the Solna was damp, dusty, and had 3 of its 4 windows painted shut (not very helpful in summer.) The carpets, curtains and wallpaper were dirty and dingy. The cleaners were clearly not up to their job. The decor is someone's B&Q idea of Victorian, quite a shame as the building itself is quite beautiful and very much the real thing.

Staff were friendly and helpful, despite the fact that there was usually one person left to run things on what seemed to be the busiest weekend of the year.

We stayed here as a last resort as the entire city was booked. From now on we will make sure to avoid the Solna at all costs!

im shocked at all the neg comments about this hotel. i stayed with 2 friends/colleagues (one of the only hotels that have rooms that sleep 3 adaults) and found it clean,average size room, staff chatty, and happily ordered taxis for us etc. they did run out of beans for the breakfasts but hey its not life threatening!
would happily stay again based on my experience. great value for money as a last minute deal.

This magnificent Victorian Villa offers the most comfortable accommodation in Liverpool, overlooking beautiful Sefton Park yet within easy reach of the city centre and John Lennon Airport.

The hotel staff are delightful, helpful and courteous, whilst maintaining the sense of humour for which the city has become famous for.

The two chefs aim to please their clientele and offer a range of dishes to suit every taste.
