This is a really well located hotel with a very good service. Friendly staff and really liked the stay. It was very pleasantt.

Stayed at the Lord Nelson Hotel with a friend. We booked the hotel because it was central and not too expensive as we were there to shop. We arrived by coach not realising the hotel was so close to the coach station. We could not fault the hotel and would return again when next shopping in Liverpool. The rooms were very clean on arrival and serviced well the next day, can't believe we stayed in the same hotel as the comments we read after we had already booked filled us with dread. This hotel was a great find and great value for money. The residents lounge is lovely for a quiet drink. The staff were all friendly and really helpful.

stayed at the nelson for a weekend with a friend to go to football so wasnt really worried about were i stayed as it would be for sleeping only but the nelson was a eyeopener.

arrived and could see straight away the place was in a state of disrepair and looked nothing like the photo. reception much the same untidy and in need of a clean!!!! got my room key and by now i was scared and a little embarressed as i had booked it for my friend and i.

got to the room and talk about basic, no tv, no shower just two beds really poor. went to reception and managed to get 'upgraded' to a shower room for an extra 10 pounds a night.

the new room was dirty with fag ash at the coffee cups,cobwebs,suspicious stains and a strange smell.you could hear everything that was going on tthroughout the hotel via the paperthin walls and the noise from the lift which sounded like a train going past the room ensured a poor nights sleep.

good points- er...........location across the road from lime street station.

next time id just go for a travellodge etc least you know what to expect and much similar in price.

We had a last minute event in Liverpool and needed a hotel in a central location. My colleague suggested the Lord Nelson as he had stayed there before and said it was ideal.
We arrived and were greeted by a lovely team of receptionists and the check in was very smooth. There was a great business environment as a networking event was just about to start in the lounge.
Our rooms were light, clean and ideal for the two nights we were staying.
My colleagues were waiting for some of the equipment to arrive for the event and found that the Dugout Bar was great, sports were playing and such a selection of beers it really did the trick!
It was a great hotel with a personal touch, we'll definitely be going back! Thanks to the Lord Nelson team
