“Amazing stay, loved the tea!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Had an amazing time at the indigo, the staff were so helpful and helped us with everything we needed! It's a great location for the cavern club (2 minute walk) and the nightlife, will definetley stay again! I just really want to know what the tea company they use in the cotton lounge is! Can anyone help me please? I think it's was something like the tea brewing company or something?

We stayed here for one night on a Living Social deal which included afternoon tea and breakfast. We arrived at around 1630, were greeted very warmly at reception and checked in efficiently. Our room wasn't the largest, and had no view at all (well, a concrete wall and a metal staircase). However, we had not booked this hotel on the basis of the views! The room was lovely, really fresh and modern and very clean. One really nice touch was the speaker in the bathroom that relayed what was on the television.

We had been warned that the cost of drinks in the hotel was rather excessive so we dumped our bags and headed out for a pint. We found Ye Hole In Ye Wall on Hackins Hey which is reputed to be one of Liverpool's oldest pubs - just my kind of boozer! A real fire, wood panelling and lots of real ales available. After trying a couple, we headed back to get changed for dinner out (booked on yet another LS deal!). After a great meal, we headed back to Hotel Indigo for a few drinks in our room and a good night's kip.

Breakfast the next morning was lovely, plenty of choice and all of them fresh and hot. The best part was that, if you wanted fried eggs, they would cook you them to order rather than have them slowly expiring under a heat lamp. My only criticism was that there was nowhere near enough room around the tea/coffee station.

After a wander around Liverpool, we returned to the hotel to take our included afternoon tea. All I can say is that the expression "om, nom, nom" could have been invented with Hotel Indigo's afternoon tea in mind. The tea was proper leaf tea, the sandwiches were really flavoursome and the cakes were just ruddy lovely. A great way to round off our stay. And, as a bonus to a big Hairy Bikers fan, Dave Myers turned up to check in as we were enjoying our cake!

All in all, I can't recommend Hotel Indigo highly enough.

We stayed for one night in Feb, a deal which I got through Living Escapes for a nights stay, afternoon tea and breakfast.

On arrival we were very impressed with check in and our room, some nice touches like complimentary soft drinks and Aveda shower gels.

We went down to the bar area for our afternoon tea which we really enjoyed, the tea was excellent and the cakes and sandwiches very fresh.

After a night out in Liverpool we returned to the bar for a nightcap and it was busy with a nice atmosphere without being noisy.

Breakfast the next day was really good, plenty of choices of hot and cold food and the staff were once again very friendly and attentive.
I read a review on here where someone said they felt as if they were treated less well ‘because they were on a deal’, we never got that impression at all, in fact none of the staff even mentioned it apart from at check in obviously.

A great hotel, clean, friendly and modern, would recommend and will return!

We have just returned from a nights stay at the Hotel Indigo for a birthday treat for my husband.
Good points:
-Excellent location 5/10 minute walk to the docks, Liverpool one and the shops, bars and restaurants. Very close to a number of car parks and a train station. Lots of shops/cafes right on the doorstep. Also a 'Banksy' artwork on a wall just around the corner!.
-Nice comfortable room, great bathroom (although both were a little small). Excellent rain shower. Very comfortable bed.
-Well equipped room with iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary extras which were a bag of crisps, a kit kat, 2 bottles of water and 2 cabs of pop.
-Friendly, helpful staff.
-Excellent value for money - I was lucky enough to get the nights stay for just £56 on Hotels.com. We didn't eat in the hotel or use the gym so couldn't comment on either.
The only little niggles we had were the Wifi - both me and my husband couldn't get it working at all on our iPhones during our stay. We also had a constantly dripping shower which was quite annoying. We also could not get the iPod dock working at all.
All in all we did enjoy our stay and would definitely stay again - especially if we could get it for that price again.

Clean. Modern. Does the job.
Great menu!

But that 'bar/lounge'! Really, it defies the trades descriptions act. It's clearly an after thought. Simply a shelf and a row of stools. Its basically an area where you wait for your table.

We stayed here to treat my lovely wife to a valentines she would never forget. The hotel and all it's staff are a credit to behold, a special mention for Sarah who is a lovely waitress and never stopped smiling and Sian on the reception desk who was ever so helpful. We booked through Secret Escapes and we landed on a real bargain. We had not been to Liverpool for a few years and the staff were so helpful in giving directions and valuable advise. We ate in the Marco Pierre White's restaurant where we had top quality food, we ordered fillet of beef and it came with all the trimmings and a yorkshire pudding the size of half the plate and followed by a gorgeous dessert. Being a quality restaurant chain, you know you are going to get the best.We asked a member of the kitchen staff, have you seen Marco, they said not yet. He calls un announced, so all the food and service are second to none, would you like to be on the wrong side of Marco? The waiting staff were so pleasant and kept coming to the table to see if we were happy with the food. The rooms are very modern with all the trimmings, they even have a volume controller on the wall in the bathroom so you dont miss what is on the television, cool eh, ask for a room at the back as we had a quiet room as i am a very light sleeper. The whole hotel was very well designed and the cleanliness was top notch. We went to the Tate gallery where it is free, and on level four they have a Glam exhibition, a visually extravagant pop style exploded across Britain in the seventees. We bought 2 tickets at £8 each and we were bored after a few minutes Themes of glamour, camp, exaggerated identity, androgyny, eroticism and dandyism will be explored in the work of David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Allen Jones, Richard Hamilton, Peter Hujar and many more. My advise would be go and take other options to spend your hard earned money, but if you are well in to your art maybe you would like that sort of thing. We went to the Cavern club where they have artists playing all the songs of the past, it is free to get in and the drinks are not too expensive. We were lucky and seen the beatles tribute band Made in Liverpool, it was just like the good old days, they all were good musicians and copied the beatles to a tea, especially Paul and John. We went to the LIverpool museum where they have an 8 minute screening of the Beatles and also a football show of LIverpool and Everton, wit the Hysel Stadium tradgedy and of course the terrible Justice for the 92 who died at Hillsborough 15 April 1989. We had a great couple of days where everything went to plan and no hiccups anywhere. We will definitely be coming back to LIverpool and go on the Mathews Street at night time, if you are booked for the Indigo hotel, relax, you will be treated with the utmost repect and first class service, once again Thank you to all the staff and we will see you soon

Stayed at this hotel 15th feb with my husband and another couple. First impression modern and fresh. Parking was at Moore street near by. £8 for 24 hours with ticket fr reception. At checkin was a little mix up with the names but was sorted in seconds. Lovely friendly reception staff. We had the green room and our friends had the orange room both identical. There modern and clean just as the pictures show. I would say they are on the small side, but I suppose as a city stop over for shopping and clubbing its fine. Comp mini bar 2 cans of pop packet of crisp and choc bar. Comp tea, coffee. iron and board, hair dryer, comp mini toiletries and flannels. iPhone / radio docking station and variety of channel on t.v including music. Was unable to get onto wifi. Comfortable rooms. I don't think the lighting was brilliant, but hey. Magnifying mirror in the bathroom and plenty of light for applying make up. We didn't use any of the dining facilities so can't comment. They offered breakfast at £10 if we booked that night if not it was £ 13.95 the next day. Town centre was very near by, so brilliant location. We paid £71.00 per room. Which I think was quite reasonable. The only one thing to let it down was when I got into bed I found a long blonde hair and mine is short and black.
