I had a great stay from checking in to checkin out the whole experience was memorable. I came with my son, and were having a good bonding weekend away from mom. They had apples at the front desk, and the staff were actually helpful, and sincere such a rarity in this country. If you get a chance to go to liverpool check out the liner, you wont regret it. Might I also say breakfast was superb!!!

14 of us on a "girls" w/end booked into the Liner and thoroughly enjoyed the stay .. we arrived too early to check in but they took our bags and locked them in a secure room .. when we did check in the rooms were v. nice (esp the bathrooms which were spotlessly clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated approx. 10 mins walk into the centre (through the station and under s subway) ...breakfast was excellent .. self service so you could help yourself .. also, a lot of choice. The only negative comments I would make is (1) when we booked the hotel they asked whether is was a hen / stag night as they weren't allowed since the refurbishment .. we counted 4 separate groups booked in, and (2) checking out on the Sunday was a nighmare, the queue's were horrendous .. with one receptionist saying this was the norm but we should try staying when a football match is on. That said .. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this hotel again.

I attended a hotel marketing conference at this hotel and can only list my disappointment.

My initial enquiry took three days to elicit a response. I made a booking based on the fact that the conference was taking place at the hotel and it was located by Lime Street Station.

Just before leaving I read the Trip Advisor reviews and my expectations were lowered as a result. Unfortunately those low expectations were not exceeded!!

The room was adequate but very warm (24 degrees, despite having the window open). Bathroom was fine. I was able to get a room fan which helped. However, my TV was not working properly and there was no radio. despite reporting the fault (BBC1 unwatchable and no Channel 5), nothing was done about it.

The food in the restaurant was mediocre but reasonably priced. Staff were helpful.

The hotel had no character, despite an attempt at theming it as ship's liner.

Overall a depressing stay. This hotel needs to improve its standards if it wants to attract foreign visitors next year.

Not that bad. I'd have to agree that the water from the shower was below pressure and very poor. Another thing I hated (and ignored) was the rule in their book that food and drink must not be brought into the hotel. I don't know what a Liner looks like inside, but this just looked like a hotel.
Staff were pleasant enough. The rooms were very warm (even in UK May), and there is no AC.
Seedy location,, but handy for shops.

My mother and I stayed at this hotel as all other hotels were fully booked. To be charged £145 per person for 1 night bed and breakfast was shocking.I did not appreciate receiving a calling card from an escort agency pushed under my door and when I complained to the manager his attitude was very flippant. He told me "it happens all the time in Liverpool".I pointed out to him, this was my 3rd trip to Liverpool in my 3rd hotel and I had never had this experience before. He did not seem too bothered.
The breakfast was a fiasco.Too many residents and not nearly enough staff. It was like a works canteen.I'm all for self-service,but why charge £145 when the customer seems to do everything for themselves?
Another major complaint was,the sickly heat through-out the hotel and the unhelpful reception staff.Nothing about the availability of the hotel facilities were explained to me and the was no information in the rooms regarding room service.
Do yourself a favour and give this hotel a miss.
