“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for three nights in rooms 314 and 315. Can not fault hotel in anyway possible. Staff are so friendly and food is top class. Our rooms were very nice I think they were executive doubles. We will definitely be back to this hotel, it is very central you can walk to centre in couple of minutes.

“overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

This hotel is across the road from the "three graces". Good location on outskirts of town, within walking distance / to main shopping centre, bars and restaurants and close to Albert Dock area. Good for an overnight stay. Comfortable, clean rooms, although did not have the wow factor and in my opinion other hotels, like Malmaison are better and comparitively priced.

Dear Sjh22,

Thanks for your review, and pleased that overall you had a good stay.
In terms of Wow factor, I am pleased to advise that we are about to embark on a significant refurbishment of our Vista Restaurant and Bar, as well as an upgrade to the Vu Bar, which should all be completed by the end of March 2012.
Our aim is to bring our public areas into line with our bedroom stock, which is already strong and is also currently undergoing refurbishment of the final floor.
Hope next time you come to town you will take the opportunity to see the difference.
Thanks again for your feedback,

Alistair Risk

“Our hotel when we go to Liverpool from now on!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

We Stayed here at the Atlantic hotel on new years eve and found it great! But what i will say before we start is that we got a great deal on lateroom.com we booked a week prior and paid a total of £68 inc 2 breakfast for a standard double. To do this through the hotels own website it would be over £160. So make sure you shop around, i wouldn't have paid their prices.

But because we got it so cheap it was fantastic value and loved it there. We arrived at 2pm checked in and went up to our room. It was quite small but very acceptable for a short stay. We found it very clean with tea and coffee making facilities, large tv with free view, decent beds with good quality bedding and a nice view of the Liver building and the river. Bathroom again very clean with large towels just how you would expect in a 4* hotel good sized bath and powerful shower.

We ate twice at the hotel on our stay, once before we went out, we had pizza in the bar it was quite dear at £12.95 but is was of a good pizzeria quality so we didn't mind, it was very good actually. Drinks are pricey though i think it worked out at about £9 for a Archers and lemonade and a bottle of Corona, but we wernt stopping anyway.
The second time was at breakfast which they held slightly later for new years morning which i did appreciate 9-12 instead of 8-10. Very good selection for cereal, fresh fruit and juices. Hot section, is full English all of this is buffet style, and delicious, tea and coffee is served by the waitress but there's no limit.

All in all a very good stay and well within walking distance the nicer bars and restaurants in town, Echo arena, Albert dock, Mathew Street and Liverpool one also. We definitely would stay again if we could get a similar price, even up to £120 it would have been worth it in my opinion.

Dear steveo83,

Thank you for your kind review, and its great to get the new year off to a good start with a five star rating!
I am pleased that you managed to get a good deal on line, though we do have parity with the Online Travel agencies so you sould have been able to access that rate through our own website. There may have been some promotional rates available which were not immediately visable on the front page.
I am delighted that you will be coming our way next time you are in Liverpool. When that happens, do look me up and I will be pleased to afford you my personal attention.
With best regards,

“Atlantic Tower by thistle - Liverpool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

I stayed her on the 13th and 14th of October 2012.In essence it was just for two nights and provided very comfortable accommodation whilst I was in the City competing in the Liverpool marathon. The hotel was built in 1972 and had it’s last major renovation in 2007. It still looks clean and tidy though the décor in the lobby could be changed to lighten things up a bit.
The lobby is given over to a reception area to the left as you enter the hotel with a lounge area and open plan bar to the right.

There are elevators to all the guest floors and these are speedy and comfortable. The main bar is on the first floor and offers views out over the city and the river.

The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities – tea\coffee, TV, wardrobe space, Ironing board, etc. Each room has it’s own air con unit thus allowing reasonably good control over the temperature, etc in the room. Unfortunately the air con in my room wasn’t working but given I was only making a short stay it didn’t really matter. On another occasion I’d have telephoned the maintenance guy! The rooms are serviced every day and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the maids. Extra towels, etc.

The hotel is in a good location – close to the Pier Head, Albert Dock , Mersey Ferries, and Museums. It’s also in a good position for easy access to the City, historical buildings and city centre shops. Oh and regional and mainline trains. Point to note – getting across the ‘Dock Road’ is a major exercise. Use the pedestrian crossings – don’t be tempted to ‘wing it’ and cross quickly somewhere. Not sure if there’s supposed to be a speed limit on this road but it’s a race track!

All in all this seems like a good hotel – which I would certainly consider if I was in Liverpool again – even though my room wasn’t ready when I arrived and I had to have a moan. Don’t let that out you off though – this place is OK.

Room Tip: I always choose a room away from reception and the bars - for obvious reasons. Lifts to all floors a...

Dear hooglemeister,

Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review.
I am pleased that overall your experience was a positive one, and look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.
I did the marathon too this year, so hopefully it will be on again in 2013, and in the meantime there is the half marathon in March!
Perhaps we will see you then!

“Will definitely be returning.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Went over to Liverpool for a long weekend away with my other half and I'd heard reviews of the views the hotel had so made sure to request a room with a good view when booking. When we got into the room I was absolutely astounded by the views. Brilliant room, albeit a tad on the small side. Very clean, lovely big bed, excellent facilities and the view really just made it. Apart from the miserable weather this weekend we really loved our stay. Will definitely be back.
Also the young girl on reception when we checked in on Friday night couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. A credit to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask specifically for a room with a view.
