“Nice hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Hotel with Holiday Inn standards, good small gym, good restaurant with very pleasant staff, nice bar and lovely view during breakfast to Liverpool train station.
It's inside of city centre so going to shopping molls, Liverpool attractions is very easy - just a few steps. You can easly reach port, and the Beatles Museum.

I stay in a lot of Holiday Inn's but I think this was the most tired and shabby. Foyer could do with a spruce up. Rooms were fine.clean and spacious however not the usual toiletries that you get no shampoo no conditioner. We did ask at reception but they couldnt help so if you are used to using what the hotel provides you will have to bring your own to this one. Breakfast was fine but I have had a lot better. Location is excellent being situated right beside Lime Street train station and the bus stop that services the airport. Staff were excellent and very friendly but for standard of hotel very overpriced.

My favourite mid-ranking Liverpool Hotel (along with the Atlantic Tower).
Its location is superb. It is just across the street from Lime Street Station and minimises heavy bag carrying. And if you arrive by car there is a multistorey car park right next door with cut price rates for hotel residents.
Its central location means that everywhere in the city centre, including the tourist sights, is readily within a few minutes walk, and you are only a couple of hundred yards from the main Merseylink rail stations (although cabs in Liverpool are ridiculously cheap).
Reception is faultless. Always greeted by a smiling scouser that loves to tell you about their city and how to get whatever you want, from where, and how best to get there. Smooth efficient front of house service. Well done!
Rooms are above average in nearly every respect. Clean, a reasonable size, well maintained. Full TV service provided, room service provided, tea making facilities OK.
Internet connection is available in rooms for £5 - or free wifi connection if you go down to the second floor.
Standard, cooked, self-serve breakfast available. I love the view out of the window which overlooks the front of Lime Street Station, and the view of the city people going to work.
Despite its proximity to a pretty major inner-city main road and the station, there is little noise pollution and I always sleep like a log.
Heating in the rooms is also good - there is nothing worse than a noisy heating system or one that is switched off during the night. A good temperature is maintained at all times.
If you have to leave quickly in the morning, checkout is swift, sleek and efficient.
All in all, a sound, above average hotel giving excellent value for money.
Would I go there again? I go there all the time!

4 of us just back from a weekend. Couldn't ask for better. Great hotel in a good location, extremely pleasant and helpful staff, great breakfast with excellent choice, had lunch also one of the days and it was good. Great rooms, clean, warm and everything you needed . We had asked for rooms close by and got two rooms next door to each other. We will most definitely be back to this hotel again. Keep up the good work!!

Stayed at Holiday Inn, at theatre for Mrs Brown's Boys.
Not a lot of choice on menu for dinner had to wait 20 mins for main course as they had misjudged how many would want fish. Not evey1 likes curry and pasta. I put my fork down, turned to speak to my friend, my plate was taken away!!! Sweet was different from menu.
Asked for sandwiches at 10.30pm kitchen closed, menu says 24hrs!! Fruit juice at breakfast was warm. breakfast stone cold. Room was ok.

Dear 'MBSJ2012',

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I'm sorry to see that you did not find everything to your liking during your stay.

As you can see from the review posted above by tw0friedns that visited as part of the same theatre tour, we do usually offer a great venue when booking as part of a group.

We do take customer satisfaction etreamly seriously at the hotel and I will be investigating your comments to see if we can improve for the future.

I do hope that you would consider using our hotel again in the future should the situation arise.

Thank you once again.

Kind regards

Simon

once again another chain hotel completely let down by unacceptable service and incompetent staff.

Im a priority club member but never got anything etc.

No one was available to help me with my backs, this wasn't even offered despite the hotel car park being some distance away when got four bags to oneself, I explained the situation and was told no one available.

Then at 2100 I was told I would have to go to the hotel bar to order room service... how ridiculous, despite them having my company card details which paid for the room!!!!

Terrible service!!! Think it is time to change to another hotel group! Unacceptable.
